what I really love about the Disco Elysium Fandom is that we are not yassifying Kim and Harry. I open Tumblr and Kim is a skinny middle aged guy and Harry is a fat alcoholic. I scroll through the Harrykim tag and we're all drawing Harry's bicep-girth-bloated-face combination. We collectively said Kim does Not have a sixpack!!! How often I find myself in fandoms where characters are needlessly made to look like bodybuilders in fanart/draw to conform to beauty standards? All the time! And I just think it's nice to see so many people embracing the beerbelly x receding hairline ship for what it really is. thank you guys :,)

i like when a piece of media says that an all-powerful character "sees humans as insects" because that really could mean a lot of things. maybe they view us as insignifigant and will squish us under their boot. maybe theyre actually studying and cataloguing us for their thesis paper. maybe theyre campaigning for human protection because we're an important part of their ecosystem. maybe they see a human and go "ew ew ewwwwww someone get the cup and get that FREAK out of my house." .

"How to be in love" by Kate Bush for me. In the first part of the song I always heard "Why did you have to make it so ugly (instead of unreal) ? Oh to be in love, and never get that again (instead of and never get out again)."

So when I misheard I thought it was either about a complex relation of two people loving each other but not being right for each other. They felt love, and they will forever remember that experience, but they never want to live once again that specific type of love because they were just not meant to be..

Or that it was about someone in a relationship that did wrong to there other and the betrayed never want to experience love again due to how they have been betrayed

But instead it's just another love song saying how incredible love is, let's just say it ruined a lot of scenarios I invented for ocs.

I'm on an art kick and Regent is easy to draw, so take a lil headcanon about his eye! ☀️ Was thinking about how fun it would be if he went through the star life cycle when wounded. And so, it took me exactly (checks) three fanarts to kill him...

Normal - yellow, main sequence star

Severe pain/distress/rage - red, red giant

Dying - dim, white - white dwarf

Dead - dark/no eye - black dwarf

The Defect to Regent pipeline

My way of seeing the regent is he’s a mix of both typical tropes you think of when thinking of a king, snobby, yet noble. 

He left his home because it was perfect, it doesn’t need him anymore. his reasoning selfish, yes, but ultimately understandable and (probably unintentionally) kind, as his actions will lead to another planet being uplifted. Ontop of that, while he does so boldly and rudely claim himself king as soon as he lands on the planet, the very moment he learns about the spire and the plight it is? He sets out to deal with it, and sets out initially to do it alone. While the others have some vendetta/reason to go for the spire, (and reasonably so) the regents is just “oh, this things killing people… my future people… this needs to go, now.”

Ontop of all that, he does seem to genuinely love when he has to put some elbow grease into something, comparing his normal attack cards art to his more physical attack/forge cards, he does seem more happy to actually get to dropkick a mf or put his blade to use, seeming to take pride in his work and methods. 

All I’m saying is, I wouldn’t mind a fic where the others get knocked out in a fight, leaving regent on his own. But rather then waking up revived at neow’s cave like they were expecting, they awaken to find the regent, off his throne, stomping what use to be the head of their attacker, and spewing out every obscenity the language of his people has.
