Jack jumped up suddenly, running up to the girl and grabbing her shoulders. "You mean...you can see me!? I...I CAN TOUCH YOU! YES!" Jack jumped back, spinning in circles and summoning the wind and help him get lots of air in his jump. "THIS IS AMAZING! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS!?"

"Erm- Not to certain as to what it entails. Please, do enlighten me." Aria mutters, stupefied but not as much as she was confused by the sudden turn of events.

The moment the young man jumped away, she bent down to search the ground for the glasses that slipped off her face, almost certain that the heightened jumps of the other were a simple visual misunderstanding on her part. 

Maybe her eyesight was just getting worse.

Jack looked over to the source of the voice, finding the figure of a girl standing above him. He gasped lightly, feeling a blush creep into his cheeks. "Are you talking to me?"

"Who else is there to talk to?" she asks, putting up a smile for a good first impression.

Not minding that her hair was a mess, or that she was sweating in the cold, or that her glasses were askew and falling apart once more. She didn't care how dead tired she was as she trudged closer to the boy, losing her footing a bit before getting close enough to bed over and get a good look at him.

"You're not from around here, I can tell. Are you lost?"

She was instantly drawn to his eyes - An iridescent blue, so icy like a clear sky. She couldn't tell if she was in awe or simply jealous of them, having held record for her own eyes, duller and darker in comparison, as being the most unique in town from the day she moved in.

“AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!! AAAHHHH! AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!” He screamed with all his might, growing angrier with every second that his roars continued. He eventually ran out of breath, breathing in desperately and falling back into the snow, opening his eyes, brimming with tears. “If only…” He whispered softly, letting the flurries bury him slowly along with his known existence to mankind…

She didn't quite understand why, but she found herself running frantically to wherever the source would have been. Less annoyed, more of worried. 

Aria had simply wrapped a pinch checkered bandage around the side of her glasses to no avail as she dashed on, the frames going askew from the very moment she finally got them to balance of the bridge of her nose.

"No, it's impossible..." she mutters to herself between deep gasps for breath. "It's not one of the guys from town, they're always together in groups, like a pack of ruthless wolves or boisterous monkeys, so who could that possibly-"

She stopped dead in her tracks, spotting a figure in the snow. Her heart palpitating from the run and her legs shaking, she tries to pull herself together to approach and ask the stranger calmly.

"Are you alright?"

She bites her lip shortly after, still a little too far to see the stranger's face,  she was disappointed in herself. He's lying down in the snow, how could he be alright?

Jack Frost stared out into the open plain, letting his eyes scan the never ending field of white in search of a pure thought. There has been nothing on his mind all day but the pressure of being…unseen. Unseen by everyone. He wished he could somehow make someone believe, though he couldn’t do so without potentially hurting anyone. He wasn’t like that. He had to keep people safe. He wouldn’t ever be able to forgive himself anyway.

“And ladies and gentlemen, here he is! The one you’ve all been waiting for, JACK FROST, THE UNSEEN WONDERRRR!!” He shouted into the nothingness, kicking up flurries with the wind to act as confetti as he pranced around the snow like a madman. “Thank you, thank you, You’re all FAR too kind! I truly don’t deserve this, I don’t!”

Aria gasps, dropping her book on the ground where it landed with a soft slush and faint thud before she hurriedly reached for it. She stuffs it back into her bag and glances right and left, glasses almost falling through fumbling fingers as she continues looking around in panic.

This was her spot, as selfish as it seemed, she was prepared to confront whoever it was with the cold stare of her two ocean-blue eyes. She was, after all, the only one in town with them.

"Who's there?" she asks, her voice echoing through gaps between trees, carried by the wind and resounding in a worried chorus. "This isn't the place for games, you're being a nuisance and very loud, whoever you are! I regret to inform you that, but it is true!"

Oh and how she hoped it was anything but someone older than her.

fifth time time tread upon

Aria grumbles, shooing away a pair of pesky 9-year-old kids who seemed to take great pleasure in making faces at her as she picked up her glasses from the snow. They had slipped off a few moments back when they bothered her with the usual nonsense that went along the lines of "Let us borrow game of thrones, Ria! We wanna read about the fighting!" as she argued back that it was much more, and was reserved for a much older audience.

One of the brats stepped on the glasses as she chased them off.

They stuck out their tongues for loud raspberries as their parents approached to scold them and apologize. She simply shook her head, giving a quick bow as she walks off muttering how she was used to it.

She then heads for the usual clearing in the forest by the park, keeping an eye out for any birds who may have stuck around despite the cold. It was far too early for the owls to be out, so there was nothing but a pure, profound silence as she sifted through her bag to pull out a book she borrowed after he previous shift at the library.

 A forbidden love story between a human and a Dullahan. Things definitely got stranger the deeper she dug into the dusty old fiction books!

She leafs through pages, eyes darting through the different illustrations swiftly as she admired the art and analyzed, a free hand pulling out a box of little printed bandages so she could tape together the sides of her glasses so she could read properly once more.

“Aria.”

He took a moment and pause. Scrunching up his nose with the smirk that never really left his lips he opened his mouth once again to continue.

“—-Allegro. Pleasure.”

Tilting his head to one side he nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders along with it. Clasping his wooden staff tightly on both palms.

“Obviously.”

He retorted teasingly, flipping his staff playfully before resting it onto his shoulder.

"No duh. Got any issues with that, you flippant oath?"

She takes his kidding as a challenge, accustomed to the battle of wits she would always have with the others in town. Her arms crossed and face in a mock-scowl, lips pursed for the briefest pout.

"I still don't see why someone would accuse me of trying to be mysterious, when he himself, hair unnaturally white and blue eyes so lucid-" 

She paces and spins, bringing her statement to a halt for a moment to narrow her eyes at the other party, trying to make clear her newfound jealousy for not being so special anymore. "-Would be strolling around a place like this for no reason."

Frankly, she just wanted to speed up the conversation so she could go home and not freeze herself to death.

She had finally reached a hundred borrowed books.

It was her biggest feat yet, having lived in Leontodon for only a few months and to finally borrow her hundredth novel with her employee's library card meant she got to keep one of the books in storage. Naturally, it meant getting her hands on "Mythology Throughout the Seven Continents".

Aria rushes straight out of the library at the end of her shift instead of staying behind to read the reference books, skipping and humming in an unusual bout of glee as she headed for her usual quiet spot in the park, a little closer to the forest than any of the others in her generation would have preferred, to flip the book open to the page she had stopped at the previous afternoon.

He watches from the counter window.

A girl stands alone in an empty library, a small oil lamp by her desk as she files out a shuffled set of dewey decimal cards. And Jack can’t help but watch. How strange.

The sun is setting, and as far as he could recall, she was the only one in this town to spend every hour of her free time in the library, and never outside. It was strange. She wasn't even drawn away by the technology the other, brighter cities flourished. She was just there, tending to the books like her very lifeblood.

It was much stranger, though, how none of the kids who would play out side would see him at all. He had hoped that in such a quiet town so far away from all the distractions and harsh air…He hoped someone, anyone would see him. And for that moment, he began to wonder….she was different, but would she see him?

(( Corrections: Dewey decimal system. Capital D! Don't forget it's a proper noun. "The sun was setting" seems a lot better. It's still present-tense, too. Third para is a bit iffy when read aloud but I guess that's just me. Avoid ellipsis unless when they're needed for spoken word that trails off or trails in from silence! Why the hell did you have to ask for help here with that account. ) )

Something seemed rather off.

She double-checked, even triple-checked her keys. No, they were still there. The cards seemed to be in order this time too, after a whole hour of sorting them out. Just what could the issue be?

Fingers crossed that it was anything but a kid vandalizing the glass, she sets down the cards and turns around to take a look out the window, a bit hesitant to stand up and leave her copy of "Mythology Throughout the Seven Continents" alone.

It was an odd situation, seeing that pair of blue eyes from a figure hanging upside-down from the window. She almost assumed it was one of the children from around town, if not for the fact that she was the only one with blue eyes. It was a curious sight indeed for her, her mouth left agape as the figure stared back, almost expectant.

Just what did this stranger want?

I was given the rights to the main account now, save for a shared RP blog in-the-making. That means there will be a few changes here and there, and I will probably convert this blog just for Aria and some lame poetic musings of mine. I'll work on Marlon's page ASAP, just so you know. I'll be moving/reblogging some RPs there as well.

I suppose this means this blog went from personal to independent RP. Does that mean I might get magic anons? Who knows.

Aria Facts

Her design is based off the girl from the PV for 40mP's Torinoko City. That is also my personal "theme song" for her. She likes to be precise and straight to the point, and she has a fair amount of personal conflicts, so when I came across the song I thought: "Wow, that's perfect."

Props to Anri Sonohara from Durarara!! as well, as she was the character who made me finalize the design. Her timid side is wonderful, and the transitioning between both sides of her personality made me certain that Aria simply had to have that length and style of hair.

Her vision is 20/80, by approximation. She's been using the same frames for several years, and refuses to part with them. If you look closely, you'll see how the sides are covered in tape and colorful bandages in a messy attempt to keep them together after several falls and breakages.

(I hope you're okay with Marlon, since none of my other characters seem to fit the setting one bit. In addition to that, it literally took days to come up with something!)

It was a curious time to close shop, yes, but his reasons could easily be justified.

From the day he arrived, the only free time he had were used to sleep, eat, and buy from the market. It was his first day off since settling into the new place, and he was, quite frankly, happier than he could ever be.

Frequent patrons passed him by and greeted him, asking when he would have the bar open the next day. "The usual time." was his reply to every inquiry raised, before waving goodbye and proceeding down the road with his small pouch of coins.

So many unfamiliar places, and even more unfamiliar faces. None as friendly nor as chatty as those he had met the week prior, but perhaps that was simply thanks to a few sips of liquor. After all, that was usually the case.

He glances around and takes a few steps to approach the nearest lady in sight, simply to say: "The weather looks fine today, wouldn't you agree, ma'am? As if the clouds blocked the sun in a hurry, just to say hello to us all. Such fickle things, the clouds. The weather. The time...."

ah, how he wished it could just be fall forever.
