Sources/Reasons under the cut:
Doctor:
EDIT: Honestly I'd been thinking paramedic but forgot the word. So y'know. Keep that in mind. As for him becoming like a regular doctor I feel like maybe OBGYN. Vibes. And also thinking about Sheila who was probably one before she lost her license lmao. Doing it to succeed where parent had failed.
Civil Rights Lawyer: I have no actual justification for this. Something something Harvey, something something helping the community. Something something I just think it would be fun if he wasn't a criminal lawyer like is commonly chosen. Bonus he can work for like, the ACLU or something equivalent.
Historical Costuming:
Off-Broadway/Other Stage Actor:
I specify Off-Broadway/Other Stage Actor bcs I think Jason would have some criticisms about the inaccessibility that a lot of more modern theater has built wrt poorer/more working class people.
Engineering (Probably Civil or Medical):
I'm aware that neither of these really specifically relays to civil or medical engineering, I was just thinking about relating the engineering part to, again, helping people (or the aforementioned doctor stuff.)
Juvenile Delinquent Councilor: What if he was basically just Ma Gunn but like, legitimate.
Librarian: So he can work with Barbara. <3
Hospice Nurse: Honestly probably kinda traumatic for him after taking care of his mom until her death, but like. Usually people put mechanic bcs of stealing the tires and stuff and that's kind of more a survival skill and not something I think he'd want to get into if he's in a stable environment where he's got plenty of money. Hospice nurse is just another angle on the medical stuff for me, also I was thinking about Spiritfarer tbh...
Puppetry: This idea combines the Engineering, Stage Actor, and Historical Costuming concepts if you're Brave and Smart and Full of Whimsy! (Idea Courtesy of @spiritsglade )
Novelist:
Math Professor: Glitter does the explaining well enough for the both of us.
Hmm I have thoughts on people using astrology to make physical feature observations. They tend to fall flat because they only take into consideration their own race/ethnicity or just white people with the occasional Asian. Like I’m talking about placements that indicate a specific hair texture, or eye color, nose or lip shapes or I’ve even seen skin color. I just find these observations to be useless at best and negligent at worst, if you can only make said observation true, if you exclude certain races (ahem black people). It falls apart once you realize there’s perhaps more races then just white people. Very rarely do I see a comprehensive analysis.
Red Dead Redemption fans when the redemption happens but the mistakes still come back to haunt the characters and no one escapes the cycle of violence.
