Hi I’m 3rd year film student and I just asked my film marketing prof about PR stunt in film marketing and distribution.
“Some PR Relationship succeed some don’t, what happened if backlash from a PR relationship continue even after the movie released?”
They’ll make the actor disappear, this happened mostly in Korean film industry. If they can’t stop the backlash even after the relationship has ended, it’s easier to stop it by ‘removing’ the source since of course they won’t risk the film industry. However, most of the time they will keep narrative going until they reach their profits, no matter if it’s working or not because it will be so obvious if they change or stop it. Like you said it’s the actor fandom that know right? But most of the public don’t really know, so in conclusion they will keep the narrative somehow until the release date
and of course I’m scared for H. If H wants to pursue his acting career, it is so bad for him. If you think about it, H is an singer/actor, so logically O won’t be affected. We all know the reason of a marketing is good profits for film industry, so to safe their industry, they’ll ‘remove’ not the industry but the ‘comer’, common sense. Here’s my points,
We don’t know if H wants to keep pursuing his acting career, but if he keeps getting backlash (mostly from us unintentionally because we know it’s fake), they might make him disappear, not sure if its only his acting career or other fields too but of course that’s not what we want
Even tho it’s mostly obvious it’s not real, but whether it’s real or not, please make sure if they ended it, don’t do anything publicly that will backlash them and the film industry at some point, just in case.
Their goal is to increase the exposure and profits, so keep going with the narrative so if it’s not real, it can end faster (hopefully).
With all due respect, i do respect him and O. I just want him to be happy, we all do, and of course the best for him. We HATE the fact that the media portray him as a homewrecker and else, and this rumor will draw attention not to his acting skills, but how public (non-fans, neutral or whoever who don’t know and don’t care about how we as a fan see him) will see him lowly, like “oh yeah he is H Styles of course he will get the role la la la”. Most likely they think he got the part not because his skills. They know nothing mostly, they just know from what media feed them and want them to see and at this point you know what. I feel the need to explain this because it’s obvious most of us believe it’s just a PR, so let’s try to stop the backlash, stop sending hate, just respect them, thats it. All the love.
