Connection with Haruka: Since they grew up together at a young age, he can understand what Haruka’s thinking without him having to put it into words. Also, to Makoto, Haruka is an irreplaceable presence in his life who understands him best since they are young.
Pursuing his dream: When Makoto found his dream during summer in high school third year, he made up his own mind to further this education at a university in Tokyo. He works hard studying Sports Education at the university. He tries to get involved in swimming from a standpoint that’s different from competing athletes.
