Marlowe goes up to the counter and begins ordering a coffee, but before he can finish he is stabbed to death. No one will ever know what he was going to order, but some say it would have been better than what Shakespeare ordered.

Good Omens: missing a Marlowe? :)

As someone who enjoyed parts of Will TNT (the fact my sideblog is @kit-is-my-main-concern should give away the major interest but also Richard was an angel) and is currently enjoying Good Omens (despite the discourse trying to erase any love that isn’t shown to be sexual) I enjoyed the brief Shakespeare scene in Good Omens episode 3.

In which Crowley and Aziraphale encourage along Richard Burbage as Hamlet, give Shakespeare a good idea for a line, and make the doomed play a success.

I know we all want(ed) more of the pre-canon interactions between Crowley and Aziraphale but the Shakespeare part made me wish we’d seen them meet Marlowe with all his thoughts about religion, faith, God, the Devil, sexuality…

i just realized (not the irony like i was originally thinking, but the hilarity of the fact) that in good omens, david tennant as crowley…watches richard burbage as hamlet and is like…. this dude?? you pick this dude??? and then he goes “i think you should get on with the play” and just???

this show is just bound and determined to have as many references as possible
