walking around the house and up the stairs with a candle on a plate, feeling like a Victorian suddenly my whole demeanour has changed.

reminds me when we were younger and the electricity bill would run out after the corner shop had shut and we had to wait until morning to top up the metre so we’d have to find the candles in the dark to light around the house.
