Welcome to The Hunger Games Horror Collection, October 2026 Edition!
General Info
The Hunger Games Horror Collection is an informal, moderated collection on AO3 where horror centric fanworks for The Hunger Games franchise can be submitted. The collection is designed to be a celebration of horror fanworks in the fandom and an archival resource for horror fans. There will be no moderation for content and there are no content restrictions. For more information, you can check the Guidelines and FAQs.
The collection will be open from October 1-31, 2026. There are four prompts per week, three short and one long, designed to emphasize horror elements of the franchise and spark creativity. You can fill all, some, or none of them – if you have an idea not covered by the prompts that you want to share, you are welcome to submit it regardless! Collection submissions will be highlighted with a promotional post on this blog, as well as reblogging the creator’s promo post (if they have one). At the end of the submission period, a masterpost of all the works submitted to the collection during the month will be created and shared.

Interesting how the only part of it people share is the opening three paragraphs, conveniently excising the parts that talk explicitly about rape, as well as the parts that display an explicitly Japanese viewpoint.
reaction to nolan’s odyssey here versus other platforms is really intriguing to me because i think it really reveals what different people believe the purpose of an adaptation is and how that effects their critique of media.
