Our goal this year is to do full day hikes twice a month to our provincial parks but we know next to nothing about hiking so if anyone has recommendations for things like good hiking boot brands, good bags, tick repellants (my wife is allergic to pesticides, do the ultrasonic things work?), things you absolutely pack in your bag/ regret not bringing sooner please share any and all info I am v much looking for every ounce of experienced information you’ve got 😅

Obviously water, portable bowls for the dogs, good boots (what do you look for in a good hiking boot?), chargers, first aid kits, and probably towels + soaps in the car to wipe our hands and the dogs off before heading back. Any dog specific things that become more of a necessity when hiking out of service zones for 12+ hours?

Cogon is usually pretty in his element at public events. Chris is not. He more or less gets used to cogon parading him around though.

To be clear they are not romantically involved. Just have a weird thing going on that takes a lot of diving into cogon’s character and Chris’s transformation issues to explain.
