So now it’s the time of year to make Over the garden wall fanart again!

This is basically an attempt to imitate the style of early 1900s childrens book/ fairy tale illustrations, which is one of my big inspiration sources.

Adelaide from OtGW, please?

First impression: Oh wow she’s so creepy and strange but also kind of deeply sad, I have a lot of unresolved feelings about elderly women living out their last years alone and uncared for.

Favorite moment: Is it weird that I still love the lead-up? My critical thinking skills were not on during my first watch and I was down for the Good Woman of the Woods bit and I loved Greg’s song about her. I guess the favorite moment with her on-screen is probably her melting – shit is indeed gnarly.

Idea for a story: Anything that deals with the exact nature of her relationship to the Beast. There are two servants of the Beast in the series and she’s the only one who appears to be willing (or at least can be trusted unsupervised). Digging into that would be really interesting.

Unpopular opinion: Are there popular opinions about Adelaide? 

Favorite relationship: Buddies with Lorna, enabling the shit out of her. Also Adelaide/the Queen of the Clouds, just for kicks. Queen would totally want to poach the Beast’s servants if she’s already trying to poach his dinner; why not seduce ‘em?

Favorite headcanon: If she only could, she’d listen to a lot of Kate Bush.
