Okay, there were many things about yesterday’s episode that were incredible but I have to start with this tiny reference to River Song:

River knows the Doctor’s name, which we know is the actual, proper TARDIS key. The Doctor abandoned her in the Library “like a book on a shelf”. So Clara taking a key out of a book on the shelf - that’s a reference to River. 

Which book is it, you ask? It’s The Time Traveller’s Wife.
