His presence would be unnoticed by the inhabitantsâ more like keepersâ of the forest he found himself in for a little longer. Every moment counted when you found yourself on foreign soil.
A marshy smell, of dirt and grass mixing with water, would lead Kitspicious further into the trees and past the tall grass until he found what he was looking for. A pond. Eerily still, reflecting orbs of light that didnât appear to exist outside of the waterâs surface, like it showed an alternate reality.Â
But it was fresh water, and it was clean. Touching it resulted in nothing out of the ordinary- chances are it would yield the same results if drank.
Time passed quickly in the dark of this forest, however. What mightâve seemed like minutes to Kitscpicious had actually been enough time for one very aware Fairy to scent and locate the bug, now watching from the safety of its shadows.Â
A new being in the forestâŠ. this was very rare, indeed.Â
They didnât look particularly threatening, so Grimmsnarl could take its time observing.
It Kitspicious were to drink the water now, heâd find it almost addicting. Fresh and crisp, everything a thirsty Pokemon could need.
The luminous forest urged him further along its dark bows, comforting the kit in the protection of its shade. Further he went, weaving his little way until he came upon that strange pond. A promise of thirst quenched, life offered.
Kitspicious did not approach.
Warily, the little thing eyed his surroundings, trusting none of this. The woods had been suspiciously barren of other living creatures, particularly so around so serene a body of water. The kit didnât get the impression that water was in such abundance that no creatures would gather around a waterhole such as this, yet here it lay entirely vacant. The little PokĂ©mon felt a spine chilling suspicion, but it had no true option. Heâd not had any proper food for days and the previous travel had all but dried him up. His choice was to take a risk with the waters or likely die of dehydration.
Survival - it seemed - was always a risk.
He came forward, paws cautiously perched at the pondâs edge. Inspecting the water surface, he could distinguish nothing aside from the eerie lights within. Keeping an eye on the bright spots should they move, Kitspicious crouched and began to drink. A sorely needed drink at that. It lapped up droplet after droplet, thankful that his luck hadnât entirely run out.
At least, he thought as much.
