Types of Careers in Tarot
Have you ever wondered how to predict a specific career based on Tarot? I'm gonna walk you through all the cards and the possible careers behind them! Starting by the Major Arcanas.
Note that some of these are my own interpretation of the cards and based on my own observation/intuition ♥︎
A new career, something related to adventure outdoors, something that has to do with physical activity, like a professional excursionist, diver or skydiver, a career that can be somehow reckless and dangerous, like a firefighter. But it can also indicate tour guides, someone who works in or with the wildlife, like a zoologist or marine biologist, someone that studies or takes care of animals. It can also indicate a first job, a trainee of some sort or a student. I believe that the fool is also related to things that are innovative so someone who might work in tech, like a software engineer or computer scientist.
Someone that creates things with their hands, it can be a cook, or a pastry chef, can be a writer or a storyteller, if paired with the empress, it can indicate a nail tech or tattoo artist. Can be a literal magician, an illusionist, a children entertainers, someone that wears a costume to make people happy, like a party character or costume character in a theme park, a street artist and theatre performer.
An intuitive job, a tarot reader, an astrologer, someone who works in the occult, a medium and a psychic, someone that works in a shop related to the occult and spirituality. An holistic healer, yoga instructor. It can also indicate someone who doesn't work a typical 9 to 5, but rather works for themselves, like a spiritual entrepreneur.
Careers related to beauty and aesthetics, a model, a fashion designer, a stylist, hairstylist, makeup artist, it can be an interior designer, an architect, wedding planner, someone who works in a spa or in a cosmetic shop, can be a beauty influencer, a florist, an editor, someone who works in marketing and editing.
Can be a CEO, a director, a career related to leadership, an entrepeneur who works in finances, a banker, the owner of a big company, a politicians, a minister, someone that works in the government. Can be an investor, someone who owns multiple properties and works in real estate.
Someone who works in spirituality, but different from the high priestess, it can indicate a priest or a religious preacher, someone who works for the pope or is affiliated with the Vatican, it can also indicate a monk, or pastor. Can be someone who works in the educational field, like a teacher or professor, a librarian, an historian, someone who works in a museum or any place where there's history, can be a philosopher, poet or a writer.
It can indicate someone who works with someone else, like a couple of dancers or ice skaters, it can also indicate for example, like a pilot and co-pilot (if paired with the chariot) or a CEO and their secretary, something that is in pair, this also makes me think of like a bodyguard with a celebrity, or a dentist with their assistant. The lovers usually indicates a job that you love, but it can also indicate a job in the love field, like a relationship counselor/therapist. If paired with the devil card, it can indicate careers in sex working.
The chariot can indicate a career related to vehicles and transport, can be anything from a bus to taxi driver, a pilot if paired with cards like the 3 of cups or page of swords, it can indicate a train or flight attendant. It can be a truck driver, a a race car driver (if paired with strength or the 8 of wands) can be a chauffeur or even a ship commander.
Careers that are related to sports and fitness, like an athlete, I feel like you can get the type of sport someone might play based on the elements of the minor arcana cards, for example strength + cups cards can indicate a sport related to water, like swimming or surfing, strength + swords cards can indicate a sport that needs precision and attention, like volleyball, football or even archery and so on! It can also indicate a nutritionist, a gym instructor or personal trainer. Since the strength card is depicted by the image of a lion, it can indicate a career that has to do with animals, like a dog sitter, a veterinarian or aquarist!
A career related to mental health, a therapist or phycologist, it can also indicate a doctor, nurse or pharmacist, someone that works in hospitals, if paired with the 3 of swords, it can indicate a surgeon. I feel like the hermit can also indicate unemployment, or someone who is taking a break from work.
The wheel of fortune does not indicate a specific job, but rather it signify a constant change in career, it can indicate sudden gain of money, like winning the lottery, or winning some type of award. I feel like the wheel of fortune has to do with investments, like an entrepeneur who works in crypto, you never know if you're gonna gain money or lose them.
Careers in laws and justice. Can be a judge, a lawyer, a prosecutor, someone that works in court, can be a police officer or someone that works in a jail too. Can be an accountant or someone that manages money. Can be someone that works in government (like the emperor).
Just like the hermit, I feel like the hanged man represent unemployment, someone who doesn't know what career to pursue.
Careers related to literal death, like someone who works in a cemetery or obituary, a forensic pathologist, a funeral director, but it can also indicate a first aid doctor, a trauma healer, mental health coach, a psychotherapist, someone that helps people get through their addictions. If paired with creative cards like the knight of cups or the star, it can indicate a dark artist, someone that express their art through dark topics or has a very dark aesthetic.
A career in the healing field, but completely opposite as the death card. It can indicate light work, can be a calm job, like a reiki healer, a meditation or yoga instructor, someone that do energy healing, like a spiritual coach. It can indicate a therapist or a social worker, someone who has patience with others, if paired with the 6 of cups it can indicate someone working in childcare, if it's paired with strength, it can indicate an holistic nutritionist, or someone who is specialized in animal care, like a trainer or a dog groomer.
Can be a career related to sex work, a stripper, or someone that works in the adult industry (OF or the orange and black website if paired with the star or the fool). Can be a night worker, or someone that works in a toxic environment. It can indicate a gambler or someone who has some toxic addictions and make money in unconventional ways.
Humanitarian jobs, something related to natural disasters, can be someone who's in the army, like a first responder that helps people overcome something tragic, through a disaster (like a flood, tornado, or earthquake). Can be a soldier or a marine, a police officer or firefighter.
Celebrity careers, actors, singers, dancers, musicians, anything that is the entertainment field, it can also indicate social medias, influencers and independent artists. It also indicate healing, like a nurse or a doctor. Jobs related to science and space, like an astronaut or someone working in space engineering or that studies the stars and planets, like an astronomer or astrologer. I feel like it can also indicate jobs related to the sky, like a pilot (again like the chariot. I feel like if both cards are together it does indicate a pilot).
Just like the star, I feel like the moon also can indicate a job related to space and the study of planets, but it can also indicate a job related to water, like a lifeguard or a fisherman, a professional mermaid. Since the moon is a card that talks about the unconscious, dreams and illusion, it can also indicate a career related to dreams, like a sleep scientist or oneirologist (someone that is specialized in the studies of dreams). Can be a psychologist, therapist, or even philosopher.
Careers related to the public, like a shop owner, an entertainer, a server or bartender (if paired with cards like the 3 of cups), it can also indicate creative careers, like the star, if can indicate singers, dancers and working in the entertainment industry. Can be a movie director, a choreographer or writer, if paired with the emperor, it can indicate a ceo or director in a creative industry.
Just like the wheel of fortune, it doesn't indicate a specific job, but it does indicate a sudden change in career.
Lastly, the world card can indicate again travel, but it can indicate entrepreneurship, someone who travels a lot for work, like an artist, I'm seeing the world as working abroad so maybe someone that works on a cruise ship or again, in a plane. Can also indicate someone that works in places where people travel, like at a train station or airport. Can also be a receptionist or travel agent. If paired with cards like the hierophant or the page of swords, it can indicate a language teacher.
