German Expressionist painter, Franz Marc (1880-1916). I’m always fascinated by this style, with its mosaics of broken impressions. Imagine THE TIGER (1912), the first image, appearing in DR. CALIGARI—a brazen night-walking tropic fire against the dark edged streets and corridors. I’d like to animate that someday.
