Heyo, fun fact here! Craig McCracken and Jamie Hewlett are actually pretty good friends with one another. And this isn’t the first time that either PPG or The Gorillaz have been reference within each other’s universes.

For example, in the PPG movie, you can see Mojo reading a newspaper that shows off an ad for the Gorillaz on the top left.

And on the back of their debut album, you can see 2D wearing a Mojo Jojo shirt.

So it’s pretty heavily implied that both The Powerpuff Girls and The Gorillaz take place within the same canon universe! How awesome is that? There are many other examples you can see throughout both series, and even in Craig’s other cartoons.
