long
Also, consider. A magical version of the bends. Whenever someone from a non- or low-magical land has to go into a very magic rich forest or land or dimension, having to take breaks to let their bodies adjust to the new magic exposure or else their blood will boil in their veins or they'll Transform
actually the bends only kicks in when you try to LEAVE the high pressure area. or in this case, magic rich area?
Getting deeper and deeper into feywilds and knowing that however deep you get, itâs gonna take twice as long to escape without magic tearing its way out of you

I don't know if anyone is still here to read this, but this blog isn't necessarily dead.
I don't exactly have an urge to rp anymore, i'm kinda busy ever since i got a 9-5 BUT I'm still here, still creating and still VERY welcoming of questions about my ocs and lore or just to talk!
My ask box is still open, but unless I get asks, I think I will just leave this post here on the top of my blog If you ARE interested in reading more of my writing, I generally post stuff here: (www.)fictionpress(.com)/u/645811/
I also stream pretty much every Thursday starting around 6:30/7pm Eastern over on my twitch: (www.)twitch.tv/kitterah
and I post my vods on youtube here: (www.)youtube(.com)/channel/UCu8l4wCfX6I36YJse2-nXtw
Otherwise asks are open and dms are open and I'm on here pretty much everyday so I WILL see and respond to things (if I can, though please be patient bc tumblr doesn't always tell me when I have notifs)
Uhhhhh.... I think that's about it, I just wanted to have a nice end-cap to this blog, specially in case someone new stumbled across it

â⊠We?!â Quinnâs eyes went wide, her wings missing a beat - causing her to fall a few flaps behind her escort. As in the Royal We? As in⊠She vaguely recalled Mother Dove mentioning a PrinceâŠ
No grand ceremony of titles. That was fine. Ree was the same - it wasnât in Never Fairy culture to care for titles or royal formalities. Hence why their own Queen didnât even use her title, insisting all call her by âReeâ instead of her formal name âClarionâ - unless absolutely necessary, like with the Great Wandie Fairies, who prided themselves on formality and title and the grandest gestures of hospitality.
Quinn had to flap double time to catch up, glancing curiously at the large tranquil pond. She fluttered hesitantly over the water, her feet not even grazing the top of the pond. She couldnât help but flinch as a flower ducked quickly beneath the surface of the water. Never Fairies couldnât fly if their wings got wet - and she would surely sink to the bottom. She couldnât help but feel a bit foolish for being so frightened of such a beautiful place. Her friend, Rainy, a Water-Talent would be having the exact opposite reaction to such a situation. If Rainy were by her side she wouldnât be so afraidâŠ
The Tinker pursed her lips uncertainly as the green haired flower fairy waited for her to follow, his hand outstretched towards her. It was only when the petals of the large flower began to close did she take his hand, a small fearful yelp escaping her lips as she darted inside - nearly knocking him down.
⊠Any chance he might believe she just slipped?

âOof-â Galanthus stumbled as Quinn knocked into him, but managed to say upright. âWatch your footing. It wonât take long.â As he spoke, the petals of the water poppy closed around them. Thankfully, they were spared from the dark as the center of the flower began to glow until the flower was dimly lit from within. There was at least enough room for the two fairies to stand comfortably without being squished together. Once the petals were fully closed, they could feel it slowly start to slowly descend, assumedly into the water but not even a drop entered the flower.
After a few seconds of silence Galanthus cleared his throat, âI uh, just realized I never told you my name. Iâm a snowdrop fairy, Galanthus. I suppose I should also apologize for being rude earlier⊠so, sorry.â After about a minute and without slowing or seeming to change direction at all, the flower felt like it was now going up. Soon the petals began to open, slowly letting the sunlight filter in.Â
Once they were fully open, the scene that lay before them was breathtaking. Gone was the lightly wooded area they had been in and it was replaced with a beautiful meadow filled with blossoming flowers of all kinds. Flower fairies were flitting about to and from the pond, some were sitting on the flowers hanging out, talking, eating, you name it.Â
A small hill could be seen a little ways off and on the top of the hill was a large tree. Beyond the tree and ringing the whole meadow were trees that were also in bloom. Colors of pink, yellow, blue and green seemed to float across the blue sky and dissipate as easily and freely as clouds did on the other side of the pond. Galanthus let Quinn take in the sight before pointing at the large tree. âThatâs where weâre heading.â
Quinn fluttered back, though she wasnât so concerned with her embarrassment for much longer, entranced by the sudden glow of the petals around them. The flowers seemed to glow with a light all their own - with no assistance from a Light-Talent! As the flower began to descend, Quinn had half a mind to continue hovering in mid-air, but seeing no seepage of water draining through, and her companions rivaled calm demeanor, she landed.
âGalanthusâŠâ Sheâd had to say the name about three times in her mind to ensure the pronunciation before speaking it out loud, âthatâs a lovely name. ⊠We have plenty of Snow-Talent fairies in Pixie HollowâŠâ She chuckled nervously. Did Snowdrops grow in snow? ⊠Were they even related to snow?!
Oh, why didnât she ask Lily any more details about her flowers?! She only knew a few basic bloomsâŠ
âOh, no, not at all!â After all, she had been the one to grow impatient and throw away her map, âI shouldnât have littered anyway.â She smiled, âreally, I would fly backwards if I could! It was wonderful you came along, otherwise I might flown right on past andâŠâ Her quick chatter was interrupted, her mouth falling open mid-sentence as the bloom began to open, revealing a large glistening meadow, as gorgeous as Pixie Hollow itself!
Beauty trailed as far as the eye could see - but what truly caught her attention was the large tree at the center of the meadow. It reminded her of the Home Tree back home⊠She didnât hesitate to follow Galanthus as he fluttered forward. âYour home is magnificent.â Quinnella breathed in amazement, able to view the fantastic scenery up close as they flew. âSo many flowersâŠâ even more than perhaps all the Garden-Talent Fairies gardens in all of Pixie Hollow. âYou all tend to them, each and every one?â
âHmm. The flowers here donât really need tending. This whole realm was made by the magic of the first King and Queen and maintained by the power of the current ones. If the positions are empty too long, wellâŠâ he frowned, âItâs not good. It is pretty here I guess. I prefer the outside world if Iâm honest. There are so many flowers here, I think only the King and Queen know them all. Weâre almost there.â  Indeed they were much closer to the tree after flying for a few minutes. âIf you donât want to go by your self, Iâll introduce you. If youâre rather youâre free to fly right up there,â he said, jerking his chin to where Ranunculus and Anthurium sat. They were still too far away to make out details, but the Queenâs large ruffly flower skirt and the Kingâs high collar could clearly be seen.
Quinn gaped, hovering in midair nervously as Galanthus pointed out the sovereigns of the Flower Fairy Realm. She clutched the scepter in her hands like a lifeline. Though they had just met, sheâd gotten used to his presence.
Besides, a little moral support couldnât hurtâŠ
âCould you come with me?â She inquired, twirling the jeweled ribbon around the scepter nervously in her fingertips. âAfter all, I wouldnât have even made it here without your helpâŠâ
Galanthus shrugged, âSure.â On he flew, making sure to keep pace with Quinn, until he was before the high fairies. Every flower fairy had their namesake flower as their clothing some how. Galanthusâ flower manifested as a dress on him, Queen Ranunculusâ flower manifested as a peach colored, multi layered, poofy skirt and straight brown hair falling over his shoulders. King Anthuriumâs was a high, dark purple collar on a deep green suit.Â
âOh, Galanthus, itâs been quite a while! How are you?â The king greeted the snow drop fairy warmly. Galanthusâ smile turned a little more genuine, âYour majesty, Iâm as well as ever. I hope the both of you are doing wellâ The king nodded, âFit as a 100 year old tree.â The queen held some delicate glasses to her face and looked through, âMy, Galathus, who is your friend?â
âThis is Quinella, ambassador from Never Land, if I remember correctly.â He gestured over to Quinn and motioned for her to come over.

The Garden-Talent Fairies had done an exceptional job at crafting Queen Ranunculusâs scepter, Quinnella couldnât deny that, and yet, she still felt a twinge of jealousy. She was used to crafting the gifts Ree so graciously thought for Quinn to present on any royal dignitary visit. A kind gesture from one ruler to another. Still, when Ree had suggested that the task of crafting the gift would fall to the Garden-Talents instead of her, it had stung a bit.
Her reasoning for it all was practical enough: Ree had said that the Flower Fairies would much prefer a scepter of flowers petals, leaves, and buds than of gold and gems. They had even used their Garden-Talent to ensure the scepter would never wilt. Quinnella had been able to supervise, but she hadnât been much help in the actual crafting.
The card was written in the oldest of Never Fairy Language, in Reeâs delicate Leaf Lettering. Quinnâs reading of the old script was quite rusty, she had only a vague understanding of what the card said. The usual royal formalities, and promises of trade - one special magical object for another.
It was Reeâs hope that the Flower Fairies might have some knowledge of how to bring about one of Pixie Hollows oldest and grandest treasures - The Pixie Dust Tree. It had been lost centuries ago, in a great darkness that had befallen NeverLand, forcing the fairies to flee. The Pixie Dust Tree was nothing more than mere legend now, known only through the tales of the Story-Talent Fairies. It had been lost centuries before even Quinnella had arrived, and even longer than before Peter Pan, back when Pixie Hollow spanned the entirety of NeverLand, instead of the tiny secret grove the Hollow now resided. The Pixie Dust Tree used to the be source of all life and Magic in Pixie Hollow, before Mother Dove.
Quinnella pursed her lips, resting on a mushroom cap in the middle of a patch of Snowdrop blooms. She studied the leaf map in her hands, folding her wings at her back. If the visit were to gain the aid of regrowing some old tree, why not send a Garden-Talent Fairy? Surely they would be more sufficient for such a task. Theyâd already crafted the scepter, why not just take over the whole royal visit?!
Quinn didnât even know where she was going! Why couldnât she just have gone to visit fair Queen Mab of Kensington Gardens? Or Queen Tutupia of the Great Wandies? She knew their kingdoms as well as she did Pixie Hollow.
Here, she was completely out of her element! Each flower patch, though gorgeous, all appeared the same to her eyes. She still hadnât perfected the Flower Fairy customs - nor worst of all properly learned how to pronounce the Flower Fairy King and Queens names!
âOh youâll get it if you just keep practicing!â Lily had encouraged. âSome flower names can be rather difficult to pronounce.â
Still, after about the hundredth time, Quinn couldnât seem to get them right. âQueen Ran⊠Ranunk⊠Ran⊠ugh!â Quinnella could easily pronounce the long-drawn name of any jewel or gem, but these flowery titles were beyond her. She would much prefer the name of Achroite, or Alamandine, to âKing⊠Antium⊠Anthem⊠An⊠oh Thistles!â
Quinnella rolled up the map in a fit of frustration - tossing it with all her might.
@kitterahsdollhouse
The flower fairies were all aflutter with news of the Pixie Hollow ambassadorâs arrival, but that had nothing to do with Galanthus, a snow drop fairy who had decided to flit about his patch of flowers and make sure everything was in order.
Unlike Neverland, where fairies were born form a childâs laugh, Flower Fairies were born when flowers who had gathered a significant amount of magic bloomed for the first time. From the first blossom of the flower and breath of the fairy, the two were intertwined with the health of the flower reflecting the health of the fairy. And so, like all flower fairies, Galanthus was very protective of his flower and the surrounding area, patrolling it and keeping it free of dangers. His flower aside, there was a joke among the local flower fairies that Galanthus should have been the fairy of the thorniest bush considering his personality. He spied something odd and his neutral expression turned to a scowl.
When Quinnellaâs map sailed over the flowers, Galanthus spotted it and picked up speed to investigate. First he picked up the rolled paper, then he flew in the direction it sailed from. He almost missed Quinn sitting on the mushroom, but her glow caught his eye. Immediately he changed course to hover in front of her and held out the paper with one hand while the other rested on his hip. âIs this yours?â Without waiting for an answer he gruffly added, âDonât litter here. I donât like litter bugs.â She looked frustrated, but that was no reason to litter near his beloved flower.Â
Quinnâs eyes widened as her glow flushed a soft rose gold in embarrassment. She tucked a golden strand of hair behind her pointed ear. âI-Iâd fly backwards if I couldâŠâ she gave the usual Never Fairy Apology. She took the map shamefully, attempting to smooth out the leaves ragged edges with her fingers.
âI was going to go back for it.â Eventually. âNot that itâs doing me much good anyway.â She squinted at the wrinkled blackberry juice. Well, now it was even more useless! She sighed, glancing around once more before pursing her lips upon realizing the other fairy was still hovering in front of her.
If she had known there were other fairies around, she wouldnât have done something as crude as that. What a rare time for her to lose her temper⊠she wasnât usually so easily riled, or quick to anger, but Quinnella was already heavily doubting herself on this mission. She didnât want to let Ree down.
She hopped from one foot to another, a finger nervously twirling the jeweled ribbon that held the scepter to her root belt. The Tinker bit back her pride, smiling sweetly. âAlright, look, Iâm kind of lost.â She took to the air, meeting the fellow fairies eye level.
âIâm Quinnella.â She wondered how rude it might be considered for her to right out ask if they were a Flower Fairy? Instead, she inquired; âYou⊠wouldnât happen to have directions to the Veil of the Flower Fairies would you?â She smiled sheepishly.
Galanthus nodded at her apology, at she hadnât ACTUALLY hurt any of the flowers. Though not every flower yielded a fairy, Galanthus took particular care of the flowers in his area. Of course, most fairies in this area knew that, so Galanthus hovered, wondering what she was doing around his area. His eyes caught the movement of the ribbon which drew his eyes to the scepter on her belt.
She finally seemed to notice he was still there and spoke up. Galanthus narrowed his eyes for a split second, not in anger but a scrutinizing look. âYouâre that ambassador or whatever from Neverland I supposeâŠâ He took a glance at the map she was holding and scoffed, âThatâs a terrible map. Youâd never find the doorway with that.â Most of the flower fairies chose to stay in the humanâs world. After all, it was their job to take care of wild nature and also to influence human emotions in accordance with the meanings of their flowers. Some chose to spend their time in the Flower Fields with the King and Queen.
âFollow me, Iâll take you the rest of the way.â With that, he flew off a little ways then paused and gave her an odd look while giving a free lock of his dark green hair a tug. âI should probably ask. Youâre not scared of small spaces, are you? If not we can be on our way.â His manner of speaking was clipped sentences, but there was no hostility behind it at least, it just just the way he talked, plain and simple.
Quinn gave a relieved sigh. âYes, I am!â She beamed, pleased to finally know she was, indeed, in the proper place. Though his mentioning her title of âAmbassadorâ caused a twinge of anxiety to course through her.
Her mouth opened and closed in a silent - ultimately unspoken - retort at his comment about her map. A small smile played at her lips as she shook her head. He was right after all, it hadnât done her any good. Ree had done her best, but it was always rather difficult to draw up something that required as much precision as a map where NeverLand was involved.
âSmall spaces? N-No⊠not at all!â
Quite a lotâŠ
âAh⊠The King and QueenâŠâ Quinnella spoke up as she followed, flitting up to fly beside her guide, drawing up her courage, âwhat are they like?â
Ree hadnât been able to offer much detail. She had only heard of the Flower Fairies from Mother Dove, who had heard the tales from The Explorer Birds as the flock had traveled over NeverLand. The migratory birds had offered sparse quick details, never eager to remain in one place for too long.
âIs there anything I should know before meeting them in person?â
Galanthus nodded at her answer and started flying, next to her her so he could hear and answer any questions. âthe Queen and King... well...â he looked oddly pensive, âIn truth, theyâre no different than a regular flower fairy. They donât expect much ceremony, so donât be so stiff.â He glanced at her then banked to the left. âWe donât, that is, the flower fairy King and Queen are based on power, nothing else. Theyâre...very kind.â
As he finished speaking, they came across a small pond covered with an abundance of large water poppies. These flowers were easily three times bigger than any normal water poppy blossoms and flower fairies could be seen flitting in and out. For those who went in, the blossoms closed and sank underneath the water. He hovered above one and gave a free lock of his dark green hair a slight tug, âHereâs the door, letâs go.â With that he landed in one and held out his hand, letting her know she was to come with him. âBefore it closes or youâll have to go on your own.â

Galanthus narrowed his eyes for a split second, not in anger but a scrutinizing look. âYouâre that ambassador or whatever from Neverland I suppose...â He took a glance at the map she was holding and scoffed, âThatâs a terrible map.

When I open my askbox and see a sweet ask :
Memory Lane
Songbird sat under the water with Caramina, combing her hair and humming a tune. Songbird absent mindedly hummed harmonies when she suddenly recalled a memory from long ago. She had almost forgotten her home, her real home.
Songbirdâs mother sang a gentle song as they sat under the shower. A hollow in their home tree allowed water to sprinkle on them in a soft stream. As she sang, Songbirdâs mother combed her unruly hair, gently pulling the comb through and working on the tangles. Finally done, she set the comb aside. âNow, can you show me what we worked on last time?â
Songbird nodded eagerly. She was still learning control over her developing wings and so she closed her eyes to better concentrate. With effort, she ruffled her feathers first, then let them fall. Her left wing then moved slowly, then faster back and forth, in and out sideways to shake the water further into the feathers under the shower. Her mother giggled while getting splashed, âVery good! Now the other one!â Songbird, encouraged, moved the other wing easily under the water. âWhat a fast learner!â Songbird giggled as her mother playfully pinched her cheek. âDo you remember what come next?â
âComb!â Songbird shouted excitedly and handed the wide comb her mother. âOh, M-m-mama! I saw a f-fr-frog today!â
âThatâs right, combing catches loose feathers and helps them lay right. Where did you see the frog, love?â
âThere was a HUUUUUGE tr-r-r-ee! And sm-m-m-mall little water-r in the r-r-r-roots. Sm-m-all, no it was a tin-ny frog sat in the water!â
She couldnât recall the rest of the memory, but a wave of homesickness washed over her as she began combing her own wings like her mother has taught her.
