Herbie casually slipped to KITT’s side, interrupting whatever he might have been doing. “Heya, KITTy! You look really nice today.” He paused with a grin, awaiting the inevitable ‘thank you’ before quickly blurting out:
“APRIL FOOLS!”
Before KITT had a chance to react, he grabbed him by his shoulders and pressed his lips against his cheek. “You look nice everyday!”
"W-wha-" KITT sputtered, surprised by the declaration and sudden kiss. He touched the spot on his cheek where Herbie had kissed him and stared.
"Ah, well.... I do, don't I? I wasn't fooled. But thank you, love~"

Summary: KARR helps KI3T cope after the death of Herbie and KI2T. But after KARR’s files are corrupted in an attempt to give him programming to preserve human life, he stops caring about the well-being of his nephew. Here’s Part One!

No, I don’t get jealous at all. Why should I? I am much more advanced than any other car. Have you seen any old jalopy turbo boost? Of course not, I am one of a kind, and Michael knows it. Hmph.

“Happy Valentines Day, KITTy-cat! I went out and bought us a little treat!”
Herbie holds out an empty wine bottle.
“…But I may have already, um, indulged in it. Just a bit.” He’s still grinning from ear to ear, albeit slightly sheepish now. How can you be mad at that face?
KITT blinks. He’s not exactly disappointed; he wasn’t expecting anything for Valentine’s Day anyway. He takes the wine bottle into his hand and studies the label. At least it hadn’t been cheap. “It must have been a good quality,” KITT said, shaking his head. He leaned forward to give Herbie a kiss. “I suppose it’s the thought that counts. Thank you, dear.”
Wrapping his arms around KITT, Herbie happily returns the smooch, the scent of the alcoholic beverage still lingering in his breath.
“I can get us another bottle if you want. I’ll share this time, I promise!”
KITT pulls away just enough to admire Herbie’s face, the cheeky light still in his eyes. The kiss had left him with a hint of the wine on his lips. He eyes the bed, wrapping both arms around his husband. “I don’t think that will be necessary~”
Herbie stares at him oddly with those big blue eyes before following his gaze. It only takes a second for it to click. With a half smug, half already-on-the-verge-of-melting grin, he presses his chest against KITT’s to gently guide him to the bed.
“I think I’ve tainted you. Just a bit~”
“Tainted? Me??” KITT lets go for a moment, eyes narrowed. “The nerve! I’ll show you who’s tainted.” With that, he grabs Herbie by the hips and pushes him onto the mattress, flat on his back.
