I didn’t know Antony very well. We had a couple of friends in common - an actor he’d worked with a couple of times and a director he’d also worked with - but we weren’t friends.  I knew him the way you do so many people in this industry - enough for the wave or nod or a ‘hey how’s it going’ if we saw each other out & about.

But I did get to interview him a couple of times when I was free-lancing, and once - this was during press for Terminator: Salvation - we got to talking about how he’d grown up in a multi-cultural and bilingual household and I mentioned how envious I was of that, and that I’d always wanted to learn Russian.  And he got this SUPER excited look on his face and offered to teach me a couple of words, just in case I ever got to travel to Russia.

Which is how I know how to say ‘cocksucker’ and ‘you fucking asshole’ and ‘kiss my ass’ in Russian. :)

Rest in Peace, hon.  Thank you for the language lesson and the laughs and for just generally being a sincerely nice guy.  You will be missed.
