Aya blushed a bit before sighing. “I don’t know, it was… weird for me. He used to do this a lot when we’d get into arguments. The whole self-pity thing would drag me back. I feel sort of bad, actually, even though I shouldn’t care…”

Kat sighed and snaked her arm around Aya’s waist “If you didn’t care, then you wouldn’t be my Aya. It sounds like he needs closure, I don’t really want you to meet him but if it makes him leave you alone…I don’t know.” she brushed Aya’s hair to behind her ear “You are the sweetest person I know, the fact that you feel bad for him proves how kind you are.”

Aya leaned her head against Kat’s hand. “You’re right… It’s just really hard for me to deny anyone… do you think I should be more assertive? I get that a lot…”

“You need to let him know where he stands…if you’re too nice he may think he has a chance. Seeing as we talked about getting married earlier, I’m hoping his chance is a solid 0%.” Kat caressed the side of her face and kissed her forehead “now you’re the one who looks like they need a massage.” she chuckled.

Aya smiled. “You’re right. No, he doesn’t have a chance. I’d prefer a headstrong woman over a weak man any day.” She kissed Kat’s palm gently.

Kat relaxed into the couch and smiled at Aya “Is there anything you want to do to take your mind off of the phone call? We could watch a movie, anything you want.”

Aya sighed, furrowing her eyebrows as she got a text message from the same number. She turned her phone on silent and laid her head against Kat’s shoulder. “A move sounds amazing.” She said.

“I’ll see what we have then.” Kat snuggled with Aya as she flicked through the movie channel section, looking to see if anything good was on “see anything you like?”

“I’ve never watched the life-action Grinch movie.” Aya suggested. “Perhaps we should get into the holiday spirit? And I heard it was really funny, Americans love it I hear.”

"It is a pretty good movie. I bought the DVD for Sophia a while back, I'll go get it." Kat detached herself from Aya and left the room in search of the movie.
