A strange accoutrement. Wooden top. (With the Simpsons in the background).
(Final?) Cancer update! I'm through radiation as of Monday and my side effects have been minor. There won't be more to report for awhile, as it seems I'm done with this particular cancer. Read the full report!
Cancer update: Radiation has begun, and I feel fine! 4 treatments down, 16 to go. This may not be the most gripping read, but I am going to keep writing and posting these because I strongly believe that the cancer experience is something we should discuss openly. There are far too many "hushed tones" around the disease, which just makes people feel more isolated and outcast while going through it. Given that close to 50% of Americans will now experience cancer at some point, let's normalize talking about it, eh?
I haven't posted a cancer update for awhile, because nothing much is happening. Radiation is delayed while I continue to heal from surgery. Here's the latest on the ordeal:
Cancer update! I'm healing, I'm still cancer-free (we think), but there's a long road ahead. I go to my medical oncologist to discuss endocrine therapy on 7/30, and have my radiation planning session on 8/6. I'm also making some lifestyle changes and starting a Keto (!!) diet. It really is like having a second job...
Hey friends! Breast surgery #2 went well and I'm recovering at home in my new button-down pajamas. I will be here taking drugs and watching Dr. Who until further notice. For in-depth reportage, read on here:
Cancer update! Lymph node biopsy is all clear. Tissue margins are all clear. That means we think the cancer is all gone. If you want more details about lab results, the strange healing process, and what's next, here you go:
Cancer update: Surgery went just fine! My next surgery is July 9. If you'd like to read about the experience in great detail, here you go:
Hi friends, I found out in April that I have a wee touch of the breast cancer. Don't worry, it's not the Bad Kind! I will be fine, but I will be undergoing some surgery and radiation this summer. During a global pandemic! If you want all the deets, I wrote an article on Medium for you. The first surgery is June 16.
