life been too crazy, no time to read, times like this i wish i could listen to audiobooks
day ruined at 10:28 AM when they started playing american pie at the fourth of july parade
haven’t felt like reading much this week but i have a couple of long trips coming up so ill hopefully lock back in then
. . . . they really both died at the end. huh.
real
reading tbdate and tftdate had made my craving to visit new york city so much stronger. like now i HAVE to see all the places mateo, rufus, orion, and valentino went, i NEED TO EXPERIENCE THIS
THE LONG AWAITED REVIEW IS HEREEEE(synopsis below)
pages: 550
total reading time: about seven hours
OKAYYYYYYY, so i loved it. words cannot even express how much i loved it. THE PLOT TWIST?? like i totally thought i knew the direction this book was going, up until the end i would have never guessed it was different. i loved both orion and valentino (as a november baby i resonated with the joke about when he was conceived, it reminds me of when i first did the math)
i honestly cannot decide which book is better… they are both amazing, i will probably read the third one too so lmk how that one is, no spoilers ofc but a general review of it. once i picked this book up i could not put it down, i was less focused on the whole dying part and more focused on the actual story this time, as during TBDATE i spent a lot of the book wondering if they were ACTUALLY going to die. there was definitely many times i had to put this book down and just take a breather when something would happen, but in the end it was truly amazing.
adam silvera can WRITE though this book was crazy and i loved it it was so beautiful, there was one passage i really loved but i think i’ll make a separate post about it because that’s what it deserves. it did make me miss rufus and mateo a lot, the next time i find myself in a reading slump i’ll probably read TBDATE to reset my mind.
feel free to discuss in the comments now!!! or message me because i’d loveee to hear everyone’s thoughts on this

synopsis: July 31, 2010. A new organization called Death-Cast, which claims to be able to predict when people will die, has just launched. Two boys-Orion Pagan, a lifelong New Yorker with a serious heart condition, and Valentino Prince, an aspiring model who's new to the city-meet at the premiere in Times Square. But when Death-Cast makes their very first call, everything changes when one boy discovers he might die—and the other's life will never be the same after this extraordinary, heartbreaking day.
adam silvera is both a genius and the rudest author ever, i would say he’s worse than uncle rick. genuinely had to stop reading for a second
baby roof and his bike 💔
mr adam silvera loves the found family/adoption trope. and the platonic boy/girl friendships… im loving it
okay guysss, yall are gonna be so proud i started The First to Die at the End today. NO SPOILERS as im not finished yet but i had to let my other TBDATE fans know i am finally getting to it. hopefully i will be able to finish it tomorrow but if not DEFINITELY wednesday because i am hooked, its just a matter of how much reading time i have during the day. just checking in, love yall!
also… seeing Dr. Emeterio hurt my heart so much, might have to spin back and reread TBDATE after this because i miss rufus
my spotify shuffle decided to torture me today, this must be my punishment for not getting to the second book in the series this week like i promised.
i’m sorry my five followers
sorry guys i’ve been off my grind this week 💔i was busier than expected but trust im working my way through another book 🤞
haven’t been able to focus all day because i’ve wondering why mateo decided that making tea was a good idea
and i could never talk about my favorite books without mentioning uncle rick and his beautiful stories. all of these books have been read over and over again, and will continue to be read over and over, words can’t describe the love i have for percy and how ive basically grown up with him as i started the books around the age he is in the first one. will always be an all time favorite
i have no new books to post so i thought i would show off some of my all time favorites.
Looking for Alaska, beautiful book by John Green following a teen male narrator and his time at a new boarding school meeting new people, it is set up as if it is a mystery, but truly, there is no mystery, its painfully obvious to the reader what happened but it is still up for interpretation. great writing, i love john green everybody needs to read at least one book by him (honorable mention here: Turtles All the Way Down) i love this book sm ive reread it many times.
Mala’s cat, a TRUE story of a jewish girl who was living in poland when the nazis take over and so she must escape, while escaping this stray cat pops up and as she makes her way through europe the cat manages to keep up with her and essentially is by her side the whole journey. it’s very beautiful and i love cats so that gets the book a bonus point. i plan to reread this again sometime soon, but i need to get through some new books first.
Between Shades of Gray, another book set during World War II but this time it’s a lithuanian girl who gets sent to a camp by the soviets. most of the book takes place in this camp and there some romance involved, it’s a very great book, i’ve reread it several times.
The Song of Achilles, most readers have heard of this books and heard its praises being sung high and low. but it truly is that good, especially if you’re into greek mythology. it’s a beautiful retelling of the story of achilles and patroclus, i loved it, i cried, i definitely have reread it and am going to reread it again soon as well.
