Sebastian yawned. “Well, I’ll be here. I’m going to stay the night….if that’s okay?” He knew she was going to have to do this alone, eventually, but that didn’t mean she had to do it tonight. “I’ll go get your birth bag, some pajamas, pillows? Whatever you might need.”

Kitty nodded. “That’s really nice. Thank you.” Kitty smiled. She looked back at Amelia, pressing another kiss to her forehead before looking up at Sebastian. “Feel free to do whatever you need to do, especially if you’re going to be staying here tonight.”

Sebastian sat up. “What? No, I’m fine.” He rubbed his eyes and smiled at the woman. “If anyone needs sleep, it’s you.” he scratches his head and leans forward to run his finger over the baby’s hand. “Mommy needs to nap while she can because you’re not going to let her sleep, are you? No, you aren’t.” He looked back at Kitty. “I can have them bring in her little… sleep box.” The English word was escaping him at the minute. “So she can stay in here.”

“I should probably get some rest, but I really don’t want to sleep right now.” Kitty murmured, staring back down at Amelia. She grinned, leaning down to press a soft kiss to her forehead. “Someone’s a very pretty baby, aren’t you?” She whispered softly, rubbing a finger over her hair.

Sebastian kept close as she took the baby, but leaned back in his chair as she cuddled the baby closer. He smiled, watching the new mom with her baby. He rested his head on her hand, leaning on the chair. He blinked slowly a couple of times before he closed his eyes, resting for a moment.

Kitty glanced over to see Sebastian resting, his eyes closed. “You can leave and go get some rest if you need to. I won’t make you stay.” Kitty chuckled, glancing back down at Amelia, holding her to her own chest. “Thank you for being here for me today. It really means a lot.”

Sebastian looks back at her before looking back at the baby. “See? I’ll get it, I promise. There’s going to be lots of pictures soon and your stylist here is going to have you looking on point,” he teased before looking back at Kitty once she was settled. “Do you want to hold her?” He asked, willing to keep the baby if she wanted to sleep. He scooted closer to the bed, letting Kitty see more of the baby. “Say Hi, Mommy,” He cooed to the baby.

Kitty grinned, nodding. “Please.” Kitty held out her arms, watching as Sebastian held Amelia closer to the bed for her to see. “Hi, baby. Hi, sweetie.” She smiled, taking the baby in her arms and holding her close. “Oh my gosh, I have a baby.” Kitty murmured, running a finger gently over her cheek. “You’re so pretty and small and you’re finally here.”

Sebastian smiled as the baby was laid on her best. He reached out to touch her, but pulled his hand back, unsure it was okay. She wasn’t his. He frowned when the doctors took her but turned his attention back to Kitty to help her finish the birth. The rest of it all seemed to blur by until a nurse brought the baby back. “Does Daddy wanna hold the baby?” Sebastian eyes widened, looking at Kitty who seemed to be resting. “Uh…..” before he knew it, the baby was in his arms. She was smaller than Mari was, she’s gorgeous though. He smiles at the baby, “Hey, Amy,” he whispered to the little bundle in his arms. “So, uh, your mommy kind of forgot her birth bag at home, so we, ah, she don’t have any super cute clothes to put you in, but I’ll make sure to get it for you and her, so that you don’t have to wear all these hospital clothes for long, promise. I’m sure Mommy has something super fashionable for you.”

Kitty giggled, glancing over at the two of them, her face exhausted. “I certainly do. Everything is packed at home because someone decided she wanted to make her appearance before I could get home and get anything.” She grinned, as the doctor finished cleaning everything up and she was able to pull the blankets back up, covering her lower half. She peeked over the bundle of blankets, watching her daughter stare up at Sebastian. “She looks so interested.” Kitty smiled. “She’s perfect.” Kitty murmured, laying her head back on the pillow.

Sebastian grunted as she squeezed his hand. “Good, good. Breathe.” He glances at the doctor when he tells her to stop. “Hey, hey, it’s almost over. Breathe, breathe. It’s okay, Amelia’s here, you just got to wait, shhh, let your body do to the work for a minute, cherie” He reached up to brush her hair away from her face, keeping her calm until the baby cried. He grinned, “see, hear that? That’s her, she’s here.” Seb knew that she still had the afterbirth to deliver and didn’t really wanna think about that, but so far everything was good, thankfully.

Kitty closed her eyes as Sebastian brushed the hair from her face. She continued to breathe slowly, allowing her body to do the work of getting the baby out. The doctor instructed her to give one final push and she did, whimpering as she feels the baby being delivered. She slumped back against the pillows, trying to catch her breath, feeling tears come to her eyes as she hears her baby girl begin to hear. “She’s here.” Kitty murmured, opening her eyes as she felt a heavy weight of her baby being placed on her chest. They’d already mostly cleaned her off and suctioned out her nose and throat and she placed her hands over her baby. “Hi, sweetie. Hi, baby girl. I’m so happy to see you.” She murmured, holding the baby to her chest. They took the baby a few seconds later to check her out and weigh her and the doctor told her to give one last push and she did, delivering the afterbirth. She collapsed back once again on the pillows, closing her eyes.

Sebastian kept reminding her to breathe and push, looking between Kitty and the doctor and Kitty. He really just wanted the baby to here again. He listened for the doctor, telling her to get ready to push again and prepared for the woman to kill his hand again. “Okay, you’re doing great, babe. Really. It’s almost over, just….” He clenched his jaw as the woman squeezed his head again.

“I’m trying not to break your hand but I can’t make any guarantees.” She chuckled, breathing in and letting it out slowly as she felt another contraction come on and the urge to push again. She prepared herself, her body tensing as she bore down. The doctor announced that the baby was crowning and she continued to push until the contraction was over. She breathed slowly until the next contraction approached and her body took over. She bore down, grunting. The doctor instructed her to continue pushing and she did. She yelped in pain and the doctor announced that the head was out and not to push. Kitty whimpered, breathing in and out slowly. “I have to push..” She whined, looking up at Sebastian.

He mutters something in french to her before switching back to English. “I’m fine, I just expected it to take a lot longer.” He squeezes her hand back. “Promise. So I guess we’re pushing. Ready?” He smiled, looking back at the doctor, waiting for him to give the order, feeling queasy again. There was no way he was ever doing this again, it was way too stressful. When the doctor gave the order to push, Sebastian turned all his attention to the blonde, coaching her through it.

“Not really.” Kitty chuckled, suddenly feeling the overwhelming urge to push again. As soon as the doctor gave her the all clear, she bore down, scrunching up her face and whimpering. She pushed for a few seconds before easing off, taking a deep breath and bearing down again. She pushed again, as hard as she could, for about ten seconds before stopping. She could feel the baby moving lower and gave a gentle push again, grunting. “This hurts so bad.” She whined, stopping pushing as the contraction ended.

“Well, don’t, until the doctor is here!” He tells her, grabbing her hands, reaching over to hit the button to get the nurse and anyone else in here. “Okay, okay, this… is..” Sebastian could feel his heart racing. He was not ready for this. The nurse comes in with a doctor he hasn’t seen yet. “She says she needs to push. It’s not, It’s too soon, right?” They hadn’t been here that long. There had to be a couple hours left, didn’t there? He swallowed nervously. Okay, he could do this. If she could do this, he could do this.

“I can’t help it..” Kitty mumbled, looking up as the doctor walked in with the nurse. The doctor propped Kitty’s legs up to examine her and she winced as did the examination. He spoke to them both, stating that her labor had progressed pretty quickly and it was time to push. She bit her lip, glancing up at Sebastian. “You look more nervous than me and I didn’t think that was possibly. Please calm down.” She said, squeezing his hand.

Sebastian managed to rest her eyes for a little, but every time someone came in the room, he was awake. He managed to sneak away to check on Mari, but didn’t say anything to Rachel about the whole baby situation. It wasn’t his story to tell. He moved back into the hospital room after grabbing a bite to eat to see Kitty was still asleep. Lucky. He stretched before settling back into the chair. After an episode and a half of Law and Order, Kitty woke up and he smiled at her, running his fingers through his hair with a yawn. “Hey,” He frowned when she started to grunt. “Uh… Nurse?” He called out. “Hey, stop… that.”

The urge to push finally faded away and Kitty tried to catch her breath, wincing. “I have to push. Like, now. I can’t help it.” She murmured, reaching out to grip Sebastian’s hand. “This is happening. I’m about to have my baby.” She ran her hand over her bump, closing her eyes.

Sebastian grinned. “Good, take a nap,” he tells her, resting his head on her bed. “You’re exhausting,” he teased, looking back at the tv, keeping her hands in his. The episode was ending and another was coming on. Great, it was a marathon or something. He had to suffer through the American justice system.

Kitty nodded, smiling and laying down. She closed her eyes, feeling herself doze off. She slept for a while, waking up at the feeling of a pain that felt very similar to contractions from earlier. She could tell the epidural was beginning to wear off a little, but the contractions weren’t unbearable. She yawned, shifting in the bed and glancing up at Sebastian. “Hi, that nap was nice.” She chuckled. She suddenly felt a pressure in her lower body that she hadn’t felt before. She tried to breathe through it but her whole body tensed as she pressed down, grunting.

“What? No. I’m fine.” He shook his head and looked towards the tv when the doctor inserting the thicker needle. Sebastian glances back when she feels Kitty starting to move. “Yeah, see, I told you it would be fine. Not even that big of a needle,” he repeated, hoping his stomach would settle soon. “Thank you,” he said to the doctor before turning his attention to Kitty. “I’m sure.”

“Good, because I didn’t want to the doctor to have to scoop you out of the floor if you passed out.” Kitty said, raising an eyebrow. A few moments later, the monitor showed Kitty having an extremely strong contraction and she grinned. “I can’t feel anything and I am very happy now.” She chuckled, glancing up at Sebastian.

Sebastian swallowed thickly, watching the doctor work. This was literally the worst. He didn’t like needles. He wasn’t scared of them or anything, but they were not his favorite. He had snorted and smoked and done a lot of bad things, but shooting up with a needle? No sir. He looks back at Kitty, grinning a little uneasy at this point. “Yeah, you got it. Just breathe.” He mimicked the breathing, needing to settle his stomach as well.

“I think you’re more nervous than me.” Kitty whispered, grimacing as she felt a small prick from the numbing solution. The doctor finished up by inserting the epidural and cleaning up the area, allowing her to sit back on the bed. She sighed softly, laying her head back on the pillow. “It wasn’t as bad as I thought. I was terrified, but maybe the contractions will start to ease off a little.”

Sebastian chuckled, “I bet it’s not even that big of a needle,” He tells her, eyeing the nurse he recognized, coming in with a doctor. He blanched at the stuff in their hands, remembering now, but gave Kitty a reassuring smile. “Not that big at all.” He lied. “It’s going to be fine.”

“I’m sure it’s huge.” She murmured, moving when the doctor instructed her to. She allowed her legs to hang over the edge of the bed, body curling over a pillow as she winced. “Just hold my hand and stay right there.” Kitty murmured, taking Sebastian’s hands in her own, squeezing them gently as the doctor began to work.

Sebastian nodded and got up to go get the nurse, telling her that Kitty wanted an epidural. The nurse nodded and told him that they would be in there soon. He moved back to the room. “They’ll be here soon,” he repeats and sits back down. “It’s not that bad,” He lies, not really knowing either way, but it had to be better than the consistent pain.

“Thank you.” Kitty gave him a small, pained smile. “It’s probably going to be terrifying, but one stick is better than consistent contractions” Kitty explained, sighing softly. “This really sucks.” She murmured, rubbing a hand over her bump. “I’m so ready for her to be here already.”
