webtoon has been a non stop never ending 9/11 for the webcomics subculture online. i hate all the practices it impresses upon the medium. the infinite scroll format, the marriage of webcomics with that particular brand of bad romance fanfiction, the kitschy preteen-media romance plots that have been optimized to down to a science, the movement from personal hosting to centralizing individual artists works into one huge mess, how the whole thing is a giant machine to groom young artists into being content creators for social media entities while lowkey destroying their taste in art. it's all so low.
