barely slept last night because i kept thinking about fcg, when faced with their god and limitless quesions they could ask, wanted to know whether he and f.r.i.d.a. would be together a long time. AND THEN, when faced with an ambiguous answer because the future is always uncertain, he LIES and tells f.r.i.d.a. that the changebringer said yes they would be. this little robot who turns to his god for everything heard that she didn't have the answer and said "that's okay. i do."

Frida and fcgs separation will haunt me for the rest of my life.

Frida saying, "I'll make my way back to you" while not believing it and fcg telling Frida that they would be together for a long time, while also not believing it.

The reality of this is, they found love. They found love in the most unlikely and unforgiving of times. They found eachother despite centuries and the collapse of the civilization they were made for. Against all odds they found eachother and chose to love fiercely with the time they had. But the world is unforgiving. So that means they are ripped away from eachother. Most likely, one or both will not survive this war. Fcg is headed directly into the heart of all of this. The chances are most likely that fcg will not survive to the end. But isn't a beautiful thing, to have found something to fight for. Even if this whole thing ends in a tragedy, even if it ends will no happy endings. The fact that they found eachother is amazing. They both will fight til their last to make it home. To eachother.

Because that's what they were saying. When Frida lied to fcg and made promises of reunion they knew it might be impossible to keep or when fcg swore they would be with eachother for a long time. Neither of them knew if those promises would be held up. Especially not with everything they are facing. When fcg said that the changbringer promised they would be together for a long time, that was fcg making a promise. Because even though the changebringer was uncertain and unable to give a solid answer, fcg chose. Fcg chose in that moment to be certain for them. Because even if they dont know what the future holds, they can promise to try, they can promise to fight. They can promise to love eachother, with all of the time they have.

Its all so tragic and beautiful. Heartbreaking and heartwarming. Painfully realistic while being hopeful for the future. I dunno I guess my take away is sometimes that love is hard, but it's worth it.
