my interpretation/translation/whatever of the lullaby from spy x family anime ep 24 (part A) and manga chapter 35

you know that lullaby from twi-loid/[redacted]'s flashback that drunk yor sings to him while he's unconscious because she knocked him out? yeah i obsessed over that for about an hour this morning so i decided i'm going to write my own version of it (hopefully i can record it someday but for now i'm just going to show my process)

so firstly, i was reading this wonderful fic "The Perfect Actor" by @sophiamarieispinkbunny-chan which i will link here (sorry about the random tumblr notif but this all started because of your gorgeous fic so i'm making it your problem)

then i just had to listen to the original because i couldn't stop Thinking

i found this spotify link from this reddit post:

the reddit post led me to this "Schlafe, mein Prinzchen, schlaf ein" ("Sleep, my little prince, fall asleep") and this is its wikipedia page:

so from there, i was like...hmm...i bet i could attempt to translate the meter into my own lyrics and i can use the (probable) influence from "schlafe, mein Prinzchen," so i listened to that lullaby, looked at the structure (couplets followed by the refrain of "schlaf ein, schlaf ein!") and then doubled back to look at the japanese (latinized) which had the structure of line/line, "drift to sleep/O nemurinasai" so i went from there

it went as far as me writing a lyric, listening to the original melody, then saying "yeah i think that fits well enough"

but anyways all that being said this is what i came up with (open to feedback/extra verses as i could only come up with 3)
