( `she glances over to him when he groans in fear of maybe she’d done something, but he’s only looking at his phone and relief fills her; ) well, maybe if you hadn’t slept in, sleepy head, you would have seen it coming! ( `she laughs brightly, leaning into him, but already their destination greets them; ) come on! in here! ( `with a tug she brings him inside of the building, and children’s laughter fills the air – what better way to spend time with her love than ice skating? it was something in all those romance films, a delicate moment to hold hands or… something. she carefully looks over to jongin, worried; ) wanna go ice skating?
( * never has he declined in soojung’s offer in anything, but today could be a first ) oh no. soojung, what if i fall and bust my ass! ( * his attention is then centered around adults and children, enjoying their blissful time together and then his uncertainty is simmered ) well... they look like they’re having fun.. so i guess why not, huh? ( * he reluctantly goes towards his girlfriend, hand searching for hers ) i mean, at least we’re doing this together. i guess that puts my heart at ease. ( * he smiles, giving her a quick peck on her newly dyed hair that he came to love a lot )

just woke – jongin. ( `deadpans, laughing as she shakes her head; ) did i wake you up when i texted you? actually, you know what, that’s okay. we’re going on a date, that’s what. ( `noticing his none-too-graceful movements, she hooks her arm around his and leads the way; ) i’m not even going to tell you that just yet. and i promise, everything’s gonna be great. leave it to your darling soojung. ( `ok she can’t say that without giggling. a lot. but she guides him along, her steps light; ) have you heard from anyone else today, by the way? ( `their destination isn’t too far, but small talk was never just that for her – she loves hearing him speak, loves his company, so maybe she was spoiling herself on his birthday, too; )
( * his face contorts into a one full of confusion, corner of his lips pulled onto the side and he ponders ) not that i know of? why? ( * and in that moment, he had felt endless vibrations coming from his pocket and he groans, who could interrupt his time with his darling? ) ( * reaching for his cell, he skimmed through his screen and saw maybe a total of ten text from taemin and a few other happy birthday text ) oh. ( * he transfer his attention back to soojung, rolling his eyes playfully ) i see where this is going.

( `smiles delightfully as he touches her hair, rocking on her heels and manages to make a face between giggles; ) but you do stink? ( `it’s not a joke she can make easily – whatever cologne or soap he uses, she loves, but regardless, she’s grabbing his hand with both of hers and tugging him along; ) i’m kidding, but i want to go someplace! are you hungry right now? or do you just wanna go do the thing?
( * blinks profusely before questioning the female ) the thing? well, i kinda just woke up but i don’t think i’m hungry right now. what do you have plan today? ( * being tug towards soojung’s direction, he chuckles, finding her actions actually endearing ) is there something you want to tell me? and where are we going? i’m scared! ( * he laughs at his last statement, nearly tripping before catching himself )

( `she doesn’t hear him, not at first, but when her phone pings with his message she looks around until she sees him walk right past her. mischief and happiness make every step closer lighter until she can tap him on the shoulder; )
( `laughing behind her hand, she watches his expression to her platinum blonde hair; ) excuse me sir, i’m looking for my boyfriend. i wanted to surprise him but i think he might be lost…?
( * still searching for the girl, he felt a slight tap on his shoulder and he turns around to find the source of the perpetrator and he jumps back ) OH!
( * eyes boring holes to his girlfriend, he stares at the female golden locks and his lips spread out into a grin, his digits swimming through the strands ) wow, this look... this is... a look. is this why you’ve been ignoring me? and here i thought it was because i stink or something.. ( * he pouts, still admiring soojung’s hair )

( `it takes a good 15 minutes to even reach his apartment but still, every moment feels like hours to the blonde – she brushes her hair over her shoulder every few moments, just anxious to see him finally. she’s got the day planned out, and soojung can only hope he’ll like it; ) ( `glancing at her phone when it buzzes, she smiles and covers her mouth with her hand before she texts back quickly, stopping just in front of the building; )
[ to: starshine ] i’m here! and bring a coat too, okay? it’s kinda chilly! [ to: starshine ] meet me outside!!
( `running her fingers through her hair again, she turns away, nervous energy making her fidgety; )
( * jumping on one leg and trying to insert the latter inside his pant holes, he briskly tried to find a jacket and made his way through his apartment door and grabbed a hold of his phone and checked the messages that was displayed on his screen ) oh no i’m making her wait.
( * quickens his pace and makes his way out to the door and she’s no where in sight, all he sees is a blonde female with her back turned and he’s confused, walking right past the girl and his eyebrows knit together )

all this love makes birthday boy feel warm and fuzzy inside

( `smooths her skirt as she gives herself one last check up in the mirror – freshly bleached blonde hair, after trying to keep jongin away for a few days (which was a feat in of itself, considering they worked together) so she can surprise him with the shock of platinum – and decides it’s enough. bouncing out the door with a jacket and purse, she pulls out her cellphone; )
[ to: starshine ] hey you! are you awake? [ to: starshine ] jongin~~~ [ to: starshine ] happy birthday!!!!! (ʃƪ ˘ ³˘) ♡ [ to: starshine ] you better have listened and kept yourself free! i have a lot planned! [ to: starshine ] i’m on my way!
( `the walk to his apartment would be brisk at worst, but her steps are so light she doesn’t mind in the least. she feels so wonderful, and hopes that she can tell him everything; )
( * lids fluttering open, he felt a small vibration go off beside him and he forcefully slammed his hand on his phone before blinking once, and maybe thrice before he could see who contacted him and his eyes quadruple in size ) oh shit –
[ text: darling ] yeah!!!... just got done brushing my teeth.
come fucking on, kim jongin. a few weeks in and you’re already lying to your own girlfriend. ( * he mentally slaps himself for deliberately lying and jumps off his bed and frantically rushes around his room to find some new pair of clothes to wear ) ( * not even aware of the fact that’s it’s his birthday so he’s quite curious on what soojung had to offer today )

( * he whispers, and lift his place on her shoulder to kiss her cheek, stepping back to extend his arm, an invitation to hold his hand ) why don’t we walk out and marvel the moon and stars together?

( `looks away as she thinks, then reaches into her bag, pulling out a small box; ) instead of a kiss or a hug, can i do this instead? ( `holds it out to him, because a while inside is a simple silver and gold chain bracelet intertwined together, she flushes at the realization she’s going to have to explain that out loud to him; )
( `deep down, she prays he won’t laugh once she finishes; ) go on and open it.
( * startled at the present, he slowly took the item away from her, giving her a second glance; almost asking for permission but he knew he had the okay ) ( * opening the top, he spots the two different bracelets and gazes back up to soojung, brows quirk up but he doesn’t say anything ) ( * places the top beneath the bottom of the box and pulls out the chain bracelets before admiring both of the objects ) so, what’s the meaning of this? ( * he smiles with all of his pearly white showing, feeling touched at the gift )

( `her laughter disappears quickly, the lack of amusement giving her stare an icy sting to it; ) … i take that back, can i have the receipt? ( `his sly demeanor is one of soojung’s enemies, always making her struggle to be on top of this game; ) well if i killed you i couldn’t give you the gift and told mom and dad just how much you loved it, so. i’ll wait until after, i guess. but i mean really, have you been a good boy? do you really deserve this gift from little ol’ me, kim jongin? ( `cants her head, her smile full of mischief. forget being nice now – she’ll play this game; )
( * seeing her mood transition makes him shiver, anticipating a hit or something of the sort that deals with violence ) where did my princess go!? ( * he takes off his bow and carefully balance it on soojung’s head ) well, i think i just found myself a present. and no, sorry. you’re going to have to keep me for a long time, also you have a warranty! you can fix me with kisses and hugs. ( * he laughs, trying to get her back to her good side )
