Royal Enfield's Next Iconic Bike in 2024
In 2021 Milan Show, Royal Enfield has introduced the concept of SG650 Twin in EICMA show, SG Means shotgun, Royal Enfield's biggest surprise at this year's Motoverse in Goa was the unveiling of the new Shotgun 650. May 2024 is anticipated to see the launch of the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 in India, with a projected price range of ₹ 3,00,000 to ₹ 3,50,000.The idea motorcycle's design features include a single floating-style seat, a short tubular handlebar, bar-end mirrors, chopped front and rear fender sections, and chunky tires. Additional styling references include the front end's polished aluminum finish in a classic manner and the fuel tank's digital graphics, which resemble modern motorcycles. Additionally, the 650cc parallel-twin engine has computerized graphics installed and Royal Enfield's next bobber-styled motorcycle will probably be built around this design.
A CNC billet machine fuel tank, wheels constructed of a solid aluminum block with integrated ABS, dual disc brakes at the front, upside-down front forks, and a hand-stitched black leather seat completed the concept motorbike. However, the final production model will be far more subdued.
Although the mechanical specs are currently unknown, we anticipate that they will be comparable to those of the Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor INT 650. The 648cc parallel-twin engine of the Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor INT 650 produces 52Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm and 47bhp at 7,250 rpm.
The paint scheme and graphics on this bike are unique to this edition, which will be limited to only 25 units. The production model will have more traditional graphics and paint schemes.RE claims that every unit of this bike has been customized over the course of months.
is that better than 650cc bikes in Royal Enfield series?
Although Royal Enfield has not revealed the bike's technical specifications, we do know that it is powered by the same 649cc parallel-twin engine that powers other 650s like the Interceptor 650.
The main chassis resembles that of the Super Meteor 650, but the rest of the cycle parts and overall geometry of the Shotgun differ to provide a unique riding experience. Currently on the market, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, and Kawasaki Vulcan S are bikes that resemble the Shotgun 650. The BSA Gold Star, which will go on sale in India in December 2024, is another motorcycle that resembles the Shotgun 650.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Motoverse edition priced at Rs 3.50 lakh :
At the event, the company displayed the Motoverse edition of the bike, which will be limited to only 25 units. This first batch of special edition Shotguns will be sold to 25 lucky Motoverse attendees for Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This iteration is essentially a preview of the Shotgun 650's simpler and possibly more affordable production version.
The Shotgun 650 is based on the SG650 concept, which RE unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan in 2021. The Motoverse edition of the bike is distinguished by custom-designed, hand-painted body panels with gradient-style graphics.Notably, each of the 25 Shotgun 650 Motoverse trim units was custom-built over months and will never be produced again. While RE refers to it as a neo-retro roadster, the single-seat version resembles a bobber. However, a pillion seat will be available as an option.
Mechanically, the Shotgun 650 is similar to the Super Meteor 650, but it has a few differences, such as different wheels and overall geometry. Even the ergonomics of the Shotgun are distinct from those of other RE 650s. The engine is visually the same 649cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine found in other RE 650s. This engine produces 47bhp and 52Nm and is mated to a six-speed transmission. We believe the brand has slightly altered the tuning of this motor for the Shotgun in order to match its personal preferences.
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Motoverse edition will be delivered in January 2024, followed by the production model's debut in Europe and India.
