Oh yeah it def showed that all the elena really wanted to fuel her curiosity with the de makout in 3x19 I feel like they were going with that narrative in s3 then killed and sired her and tried to convince us it was love
Well because it’s clear that it’s legitimately about attraction when SE is about love and I think that’s an underrated aspect of season 3. Because I keep saying it, Elena is consistent in expressing that she loves Stefan, that never changes throughout the season
These are at different points throughout season 3 where Elena has seen Stefan at his lowest, where she’s kissed Damon, where she’s seen Stefan struggle and that never changes, not to mention the amount of times she reiterates her feelings through other forms of dialogue and action
Whereas with Damon it’s literally about attraction:
she needed to one and done it because that’s essentially how season 3 ends, she kissed Damon once and made it out with him once and then at the end of the day, she chooses Stefan because that’s who she actually loved. Damon was something she needed to get out of the system, which despite me having problems with even that because the show did an AWFUL job showing how Elena would hate herself for feeling this way, made sense, that’s why the a sire bond had to force her to act out of character and retcon all of season 3.
