Awhile ago I said I was going to post a Buffy clip everyday and I completely failed at that, but one every so often is helpful. Me to the world right now.

Okay so Suicide Squad‘s just been released and it got a poor score on Rotten Tomatoes due to professional critics not liking it very much. so, a bunch of dudes instantly started a petition to get rotten tomatoes closed. It has 20,058 signatures so far.
note that when Ghostbusters was released, bitter men flooded IMDB with negative reviews to lower the film’s overall score. the largely-female fandom of the film shrugged and went about their day.
Things I Have Learned from Reading the Hamiltome: Lin got the phrase “You’ll be back,” from discussing the song with Hugh dang Laurie and now I cannot stop picturing him as King George because it is perfect.
Also, Lin is a stellar name-dropper.
The Harry Potter books are a big part of why I wanted to become a writer, why I loved reading and why I love criticism and art so much. Before Deathly Hallows came out I wrote an essay (that no one but my dad read) arguing that Dumbledore was still dead because the theme of the whole series is really that death is permanent and unavoidable (I WAS SUCH A COOL TEEN GUYS).
To be able to read the new book and write about it for a newspaper for work is insane and awesome and I’m so grateful all the time for everything. And hey, print is still pretty cool.
“I had to act scared a lot with Jack (in ‘Room’). But I had to act scared (in ‘Shut In’) most of the time. Tom’s a dark character. Not Batman dark. But he’s scared, has rings under his eyes and looks creepy."
We talked to the adorable, lovely Jacob Tremblay about his new movie, Shut In, with Naomi Watts. Read the adorable here.
Auli‘i Carvalho hopes that fans of her adventurous teen in the animated Moana will call her a heroine rather than a Disney princess.
“She’s got some serious guts,” says the 15-year-old Hawaiian newcomer, who voices the title character. “She’s really courageous and beautiful as well.”
Get an exclusive sneak peek and meet the amazing cast and characters of Disney’s Moana right here.
This brings me joy.
The Joker is HEREEEEEEE. But we’re not talking about Jared Leto. Check out our EXCLUSIVE look at the Joker and Robin in The LEGO Batman Movie here. You’re welcome.
“We all need stories to understand our own reality,” says director J.A. Bayona, who sees his adaptation of Patrick Ness’s A Monster Calls (in theaters Oct. 21) as “an homage to what we do as filmmakers: The stories tell us the truth. There’s no truth in reality — reality is just a fact, there’s no logic or justice.”
“Everyone facing big things in their life feels helpless like a kid. It’s very interesting when you tell the story through the eyes of a young boy who’s turning into a man. Everyday life doesn’t work as a fairy tale, and every kid should learn that as they grow up.”

This is what happens when you set Key and Peele loose with a photographer in the room. We also talked to them a little bit about their movie about a kitten, Keanu. Read that here.
