I'm fascinated by how the animators for TADC handle Caine's impossible anatomy so well. There's so much to balance and they've somehow engineered a solution for his expressions to hold during speech.

I also traced Caine answering the phone from episode 4 to demonstrate his phonemes and mouth shapes.

Head canon territory (from literally all the way back in September) : Ragatha is a big fan of Minnies and is heavily inspired by her in the entertainment industry (hence the bow teehee). Jax’s performance is very publicly based off Bugs Bunny, but c’mon he loves Minnie. {The tdac casts masking habits become their personas ‘on stage’ in the entertainment department woowooheehee}

Then I rememberd shadow and Amy canonically goes to girlypop concerts together

I re-did the earlier sketch bc I found dialogue from Steven universe that better captures what I was trying to do.

The Amazing Transgenderism Circus [featuring Jaxxine's internalized transphobia & cringe-phobia.] A post-episode 8 "Caine gets a redemption arc & joins the humans as Just One of the Guys" AU that I'm sharing before episode 9 drops.

This comic is here to be Goofy, but I do think Caine's whole deal is meant to tie into the series' overarching trans themes [even if he's not canonically trans.] I think the show's trans themes are broader than a few characters; it's a show about people who are forcibly assigned bodies & names they don't want, forcibly assigned "archetypes" & roles that don't reflect their real selves, and struggle to express their despair around this because their bodies & roles are so ridiculous that their despair is easy to mock. It's safer to play along with your role, when exploring the alternatives can easily make you an object of ridicule. Caine fails to understand Zooble in episode 3 because he is constantly performing the role he was assigned at his creation, and doesn't allow himself to acknowledge his deep insecurity with it-- so he's confused that Zooble can't simply accept the thing they've been assigned. After all, he's accepted what he's been assigned. He refuses to recognize that Zooble is dissatisfied in a way no "adventure" can fix, because that would mean acknowledging the possibility that he could be dissatisfied in a way that no "adventure" can fix. So instead he throws himself into performing an inauthentic caricature of the role he believes is "all he exists" for & is not allowed to ever exist outside of, even as that performance just leaves him feeling "used" "broken" "defective" and overall extremely unhappy. The parallel to the series' Gender themes feels very clear to me. But anyway, I believe all these little guys can figure themselves out eventually.

Quiet Time

There is a specific reason behind this composition.

While the vertical format is great for smartphone screens, I also wanted to use negative space to create a distinct mood.

I believe that negative space can express a character's inner emotions. In this piece, the character is small, and the background takes up about 80% of the canvas. By drawing the character so small, I can evoke a sense of loneliness and solitude.

Another key point is the placement of the cloud shadows. I intentionally kept Caine out of the shadow. You can see the boundary between the light and the cloud shadow. I used this high contrast to make the character stand out and emphasize their presence.

Finally, let us look at Caine's angle. I purposely hid Caine's face and positioned them to show their back. If their expression were visible, this artwork would probably feel cute rather than lonely. I enjoy drawing figures from angles where you cannot see their faces. This approach leaves room for viewers to wonder what the character is thinking.

The ink tales "PupCup story"

One day, Cuphead showed Boris a field full of red flowers, which, by the way, Cuphead was allergic to. The field was very beautiful, but Boris didn't quite understand why the cup had brought him there.

"What are we doing here?" Boris asked. Cuphead grinned.

"You'll see!" The cup shot forward, running across the grass. As it turned out, most of the flowers weren't flowers, but red butterflies. The boy's loud voice caused all the butterflies sitting on the grass to fly away. Cuphead's ringing laughter made Boris's ears perk up. He would never forget this incredibly beautiful sight…

This Pride month started incredibly well for me! People who I found in this fandom accept and support me for who I am and I LOVE them VERY MUCH for that and proud them too! @dearnefrit12

and if it's not too weird... I would like to thank some of the authors who keep me motivated to create more!

Of course, I won't stop thanking @biposi for that hilarious video about Quest (I won't stop rewatching it) which is what introduced me to this comic 🙏
