So, my childhood hero was a librarian at the library in our town.
The library was probably about a mile from our house, so Iād ride bike there in the summer and spend a few hours reading or looking for books (I was 13 ish for context.) I had pretty severe social anxiety.
So, Iām in the library by myself, and I just canāt find anything to read. I think to ask the librarian, but my brain is telling me āyouād be bothering themā and things like that. I debate this in by head for probably a good ten minutes before I decide to go through with it. It takes me a good ten minutes to walk twenty feet to the front desk.
Sheās sitting there, writing on a paper. I stand and wait till sheās done, then say āexcuse meā because my parents were very insistent on manners.
She says something along the lines of, āWhat can I help you with?ā
I ask if they have a list of book suggestions or if she has any book suggestions for me.
Iām not exaggerating when I say her face lit up.
She hurries out of her chair and leads me all through the young adult section, giving me some awesome suggestions and asking me about what types of books I like, etc. We spend a good twenty minutes on this. She was really excited about giving me books to read, which made me a lot less self-conscious.
Eventually, she recruits her other librarian friends to also help me find books (there werenāt many people there, they were going to be closing soon) so Iām parading around the library with my librarian entourage, getting book suggestions and having the time of my life.
This librarian helped me more than she realized just by being genuinely excited to help me out. It made me more confident in social situations in the future, and today, I can truthfully say that I can manage socializing pretty well. Her book suggestions were spot on and excellent.
Also, she was talking about this book and described it ālike a really well written fan fiction,ā and thatās how I got introduced to fan fiction.
Thank you, librarian from the library. And people, never be afraid to ask your librarian for book suggestions.

Rewind
Take me back to when our innocence was still untainted When stolen smiles and brushed knees made me weak Take me back to the pure hues of the images we painted When coloring within the lines is the only desire that we seek
Take me back to the butterflies, to the flapping wings and freedom When they mingled with flowers as we wished for the ability to fly Take me back to the starry evenings spent listening to our dreamsā hums When all our mornings are welcomed with gratefulness and smiles
Take me back to our sloppy letters, when our words still havenāt grown teeth When we donāt need to read between the lines for everything is said and done Take me back to when our kisses donāt feel like drawing a knife from a sheath When caressing in the dark means dancing with the sun
Take me back to when these ragged pieces still donāt exist When all the chances of survival and salvation are not missed
Ambivalence
Some are exhaustipated with the life they have, already giving up, having great desire to care less about things. While some have everlasting desire to travel and explore every inch. So, this is for all the people with the differences, small or big or everything in between (mediocre should not be ignored). A person who loves crowd or a solivagant; so lost in their own world that 'nefelibata' is the right adjective for them.
Cheers to those, who like cancelled plans; who is a ceraunophile and loves the smell of the earth after rain, who gets all the comfort on the couch; cuddling or petting their dear pets, relishing their hot coffee, reading their favorite book for the 'n' th time. The books;Ā old ones, new ones, dog-eared ones, underlined ones, filled with page marker ones or everything together.
Cheers to those who likes all the attention and also to those who are comfortable in the corner, being the wallflower.
Time on earth is short, you don't really have to save your best dress for some special occasion which might never come, spend your money and buy the things you always wanted, tell the things you wanted to say before it's too late. We all know humans are absquatulate. You don't have to be ostentatious and try to fit in. Be the person you are and do everything as the perfect time to do is now, it's "NOW OR NEVER".
You say you are bored with life? How can it be boring with endless books to read, places to travel, people to meet and coffees to drink?

Cheers!
