Dodged a bullet
At about my 5th out of 6 miles on Sunday 5/8/2016 I briefly stopped running to cross the street. I felt some pressure in my right knee. Kept running. Wasn’t until i finished my run I started to feel some pain. It stopped except for when I would give it just the right twist with added pressure.  had me searching the web like Scooby and the crew look for clues. I wanted to know if this was serious.  Thankfully I had a physical with Bio-metric screening scheduled for the day. My doc was able to stretch and twist and push my leg to test for any ACL, MCL, PCL tears. WHEW! nothing serious at the moment.  Prescribed me anti-inflamitories for 2 weeks. Â
Last thing I need is a set back right now. I got 6 weeks before the half-marathon. I cant afford to loose any time. To be on the safe side I skipped lifting yesterday. And I’m skipping my 3.5 mile run today. Back to the regularly schedule programming for workouts tomorrow though. Â
YO!. I kept telling myself today. you don’t need to workout. you can skip this today. You have plenty of good excuses. Then I went. Â
This was an excellent run for me. That puts my 5K at around 31 mins. I’m not mad at that at all.1 sweat close to 2lbs. Just all in my eyes. it didn’t hit me until about 1.5 miles that I got this! Super proud.Â
one step closer to my Half Marathon. 4th week in to a 10 week plan.Â
Why is it the days you don’t wanna go that you perform so well?
Well that didn’t go as planned. First day in my 10 week training for Half marathon. Geez. I forgot how different running outside is from a treadmill.
Here goes evertything. Gotta set big goals that scare you just a little. It’s Sunday and I’m fleshing out my training plan. I need the visual to keep me focused. 3 days of running , 2 days with lifting, 1 pedaling on a bike, 1 getting my ohm on (yoga) and 1 rest. Will it be enough?
