Not long ago @veronica_tiller couldn't top out a bouldering problem because fear of heights kicked in. Over the past few months she's faced this challenge head on and gradually introduced greater exposure and technical difficulties. This week I had the great honour to watch her navigate knife edge ridges with thousand foot drops, jump over gaping crevasses, free climb loose rocks, take a falling rock in the arm and avoid avalanches for nine hours to reach the south summit of Mount Victoria. This is her second 11,000er and it's been a joy to share her journey. I've learned more about bravery from her in the past year than I ever thought possible.
They say that when you're climbing Mount Victoria you're probably getting your picture taken over a thousand times per minute as the tour buses unloaded countless people, oblivious to your presence, hoping to snap a shot of Lake Louise. From above we were blessed to have the cloud cover dissipate breifly, allowing us to see the famous lake from a different vantage point. #lakelouise #mybanff #travelalberta #explorealberta #imagesofcanada
If you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much space. #LakeOhara looks pretty small from above along the continental divide of #MountVictoria separating Alberta and British Columbia.
This babe has mastered wilful suffering. Here she threw a third her body weight in a pack and climbed 900m only to wake up at 3am to summit an alpine classic in a snowstorm. And she looks pretty damn good while doing it.

Next adventure in our sights. Tomorrow @veronica_tiller and I leave for a three day alpine trip to the historic Abbot Pass hut above Lake O'Hara and Lake Louise where, conditions depending, we hope to summit three of the Rockies coveted 11,000ers (Victoria South, Lefroy, Huber).

The True North strong and free! Happy Canada Day to everyone in our beautiful country but especially to those who take the time to truly appreciate how lucky we are to live in a place with so much natural beauty.
The best views usually require some effort but along the Icefield Parkway the roadside attractions are pretty breathtaking as well.
