Douglas in A2 and/or Carolyn in E 2 please.

it’s Saturdaaaaaay!
For the abbreviation game: IDEK - Isn't Douglas ever knowledgable; AFK - Airfield Kindergarten (the ground crew uses this as code for MJN); JFC - just for cheese ("This bet is jfc."); WWDD - What would Douglas do?; WIM - Where is Martin?; ASAP - MJN's code for Arthur scared a passenger; FGS - f*§$ Gordon Shappey; FYI - fly you idiot
ROUND 4 RESULTS: Aviation Abbreviations
Sorry it's taken me so long to get to these, but let me tell you they CRACK ME UP every time I think of them!!!
I fully, absolutely and completely believe that Airfield Kindergarten is widely known shorthand for MJN. That's inspired. I FREAKIN' CAN'T HANDLE JFC. ("How many landings do you reckon we did last year, Martin? JFC.")
Ahh, these are so brilliant. I can't cope with ASAP and FGS and especially FYI... All hail @unionjackpillow, keyboard shorthand extraordinaire.
Carolyn postcard will be on its way to you if you'd like one, just put an address in my inbox/askbox por favor :-)
First Letters First
KSS Olympics, Round 3 of at least 3
Below are 8 Carolyn quotes, represented only by the first letter of each word. Put the complete quotes in my ask box to enter.
1. IAIS, IAS. 2. IDGTHFR. 3. ND, TWC. 4. IAGTCTO. O. 5. IELALRMF. 6. YSBYTA. DUI. 7. TLLOAP. YY. 8. NP, SIMO, FWIAMA.
There’s also a secret one-word message you may be able to discover once you’ve found them all, but feel free to submit the 8 regular answers without it!
Closes 00:00, Tuesday 26
Answers time! (I am just so good at doing these things punctually…. But better late than never, hmm?)
1. If anyone is sir, I am sir. (from Abu Dhabi) 2. I don’t give two hoots for royalty. (from Vaduz) 3. Notoriously deceitful, the wall chart. (from Ipswich) 4. I am going to count to one. One. (from Abu Dhabi) 5. Into every life a little rain must fall. (from Timbuktu) 6. You see before you the airline. Drink is in. (from Ipswich) 7. Thirty little lives on a plate. Yum, yum. (from Ottery St Mary) 8. Now please, step into my office, from where I administrate my airline. (from Newcastle)
@iwanttotieyourshoe wins, with 6 correct answers and the secret word, which was “Aviation” (first letters of the episodes the quotes were taken from). A Carolyn postcard will be on its way to you if you hit me up with an address :)
(Incidentally, I haven’t sent out any postcards yet because I’ll do them all at once when all the rounds are up. I’m extra slow….but it will come to pass!!)
KNAPP-SHAPPEY SATURDAY OLYMPICS RESULTS Round Two: Riddle Me This
The answer to the riddle was of course ‘Snoopadoop’! Well done to the 6 people who got the right answer. @whodearmedear was first, though, so if you’d like a Carolyn postcard, hit up my askbox with an address :D
KNAPP-SHAPPEY SATURDAY OLYMPICS RESULTS Round One: Quote That Face
I wimped out of judging this one myself, and asked my non-tumblrite (and thus neutral) friend and fellow Carolyn-enthusiast Erin to choose the quote she felt best suited Stephanie Cole’s expression in the above picture.
She chose @linguini17’s entry, “Yes, you’re quite right. That’s what we do. We alert crew to emergencies, not with the convenient intercom in the galley, but by furtively whispering the names of Disney characters at each other.”
Linguini17 also made the pleasing observation that the treble-clef brooch may have been donned in honour of Gdansk’s orchestra, to make the quote extra fitting…!
A Carolynny postcard will be heading your way if you’d like to pop an address in my ask box.
Everybody’s entries were grand, so stay tuned for the next Olympics (why, oh why did I call them that) where another of Stephanie’s brilliant expressions will be awaiting its quote!
KSS Olympics Update!
Thank you to everybody who entered the Knapp-Shappey Saturday Olympics! I probably picked the worst/busiest week to put those challenges up, and I still haven’t managed to post the results, a full week after they closed… but I will be posting them over the next few days, hopefully, so stay tuned, Carolynners - all shall be revealed, and all manner of things shall be well!
Here we gooooo!
Aviation Abbreviation
KSS Olympics, Round 4 of at least 4
In a similar vein to round 3, we’re working with initials again. There’s a meme circling tumblr (though admittedly not a madly popular one) where a list of common texting abbreviations are rewritten to fit a certain character or subject – for instance:
OMG - operation: mend Gerti TBH - that blasted Herc!
…are just a few not-great examples of how this could apply to Carolyn.
Reblog and tag, or make your own post, or put your entries in my inbox to enter. The funniest/most inventive ones will win the round!
Suggestions to try, if you need them: LOL, LMAO, IDGAF, IDK, IDC, BRB, AFK, GTFO, FYI, WYD, TTFN, ROFL, TTYL, FGS, GPOY, FTW, JFC… or anything else you can think of, including rewriting one of the two I did!
(Closes midnight on Tuesday. This is the last round I have time to make today, but if this week’s Olympics goes well I’ll definitely do it again eventually….)

Riddle Me This KSS Olympics, Round 2 of at least 3
My first is in Paris, but never in Fitton, My second’s in Nigel, in Neil, and in kitten, My third begins somewhere they took Martin’s van My fourth is in woman or boy, but not man. My fifth is in Sleepy and Grumpy - not Doc, My sixth’s in a sandal, but not in a sock My seventh’s in where we met Liechtenstein’s king My eighth and my ninth are a pair, the same thing, My last is not present in sad, but in happy: My whole is beloved of our dear Ms. Knapp-Shappey. What am I?
First correct answer in my ask box wins a postcard! (Plus a random draw from later answers received before midnight Tuesday 26th)
Quote that Face! KSS Olympics, Round 1 of at least 2
This Knapp-Shappey Saturday (23rd July), I’m posting a few Carolyn-related challenges, because technically I can, so technically I will.
The first one is this: match this excellent facial expression of Stephanie’s to the Carolyn quote you feel is most apt. Best answer gets a Carolyn postcard!
(open ‘til 00:00 GMT, Tuesday 26)
Carolyn logic is the best logic.
It’s that time of the week again :D
It’s Saturdaaaaaay!
This blog rises from the ashes yet AGAIN with a fitting quote about lateness - but it’s Saturdaaay! Rejoice, be merry, appreciate your Alpha Dog.
Look what arrived in the mail today. 😊 I can’t believe I will be able to say that in a time when paperless is the new trend. 😂 thank you for the wonderful postcard @knappshappeysaturday. It made me miss Caroline, Arthur, Douglas, and Martin again. Haha! #CabinPressure #happykiddo
Excellent! You're very welcome :D
