We know Bridgerton is written by women for women bc no girl in that show is sucking a single dick. Every woman is either getting fingerblasted to oblivion or their coochie ate like a five-course meal.
This is a super short drabble. A while ago, a few people were mentioning on the Romione Discord that they got some period sex asks that made them uncomfortable and for whatever reason... that inspired this thing that I never posted.
This is not at all graphic, explicit, or gross but it does acknowledge the existence of sex and periods so if that makes you uncomfortable, skip this.
Ron was surveying his brothers, milling around he and Hermione’s sitting room as they got ready to leave for Ginny’s match. It was the weekend of Harry’s stag and the men were using their place as sort of a home base. Before a night out with some friends, Harry and his brothers had planned to meet the family and their significant others at the Harpies’ stadium to take in the match.
“Ron, do you have a blanket I can grab for the kids? I know we can do a warming charm but the blanket just keeps them calmer and contained. Fleur’s probably so busy with them she’s not even thinking about it,” said Bill.
“Yeah, there should be a couple folded on top of that chest in our bedroom,” Ron replied.
“I’ll grab it,” volunteered Harry. “I’m probably the only one besides Ron that knows the jumper Hermione was asking for.”
“Ah, yes, thanks,” Ron said. “Almost forgot about that.”
“All right, we’re set,” said Harry, coming out with a thick fleece blanket under his arm and Hermione’s jumper in hand.
“Oh, not that blanket, mate,” said Ron distractedly. “That’s the period sex blanket. There’s a blue one in there that will be better.”
“WHAT?!” yelped Harry, dropping the blanket like it was on fire.
“What did you just call that?” asked George, gawping.
“The period sex blanket. It’s clean, we’re not animals. It would just feel weird if my nieces were curled under that blanket,” Ron explained.
“What’s it for?” asked Harry dumbly.
“For period sex,” said Ron. When no one else spoke, he continued. “I know we can use a cleaning spell but it just makes the sheets feel stiff and weird and you have to worry about the mattress so the blanket’s much easier.”
“You have sex when she’s on her… that’s gross,” said George.
Ron stopped. “You don’t?”
“No!” said George, looking horrified.
“Ugh, I can’t believe we’re even discussing this,” said Charlie with a shiver.
“None of you have sex with a woman during her monthly? Seriously?” asked Ron.
“It just seems… unsanitary,” said Percy.
“So you just go without sex 5 days a month?” said Ron.
“You have sex everyday? Hermione Granger has sex with you every day? Holy shit, I need to sit down,” said George.
“No,” said Ron. “I mean, I do all right but that’s the point, isn’t it? With work and family, friends, all those obligations, you only get a leg over four, five times a week. 4 weeks in a month, that’s 16-20 chances. You just take five of those opportunities off the table? That’s just bad math.”
He was met with silence.
“None of you have sex with your woman when she’s got her period?” he asked, shocked.
Bill cleared his throat uncomfortably. “Okay, so to your point, since the girls were born, yeah, on occasion we do. It’s just not that easy to find alone time so you sort of take what you can get.”
“Yeah okay, I get it after kids. There’s not much mystery left after you see a woman push a baby out her body but Ron, you aren’t even married yet. Leave a little mystery with the girl,” said Charlie.
“I don’t know, I didn’t realize it was that big of a deal. The first time, I went for her zipper, she said, ‘I have my period’, I said ‘I’ll put down a blanket’ and that was really it.”
“I have more questions but I don’t particularly want the answers so instead I’m going to wait until later and speculate on the answers with Charlie after the rest of you pass out tonight,” said George.
“I don’t want to think about any of you having sex, period,” said Charlie.
