It was a bit muggy, and with no real breeze off the water it was warm on the deck with no real relief. It was another day to watch FIFA World Cup soccer. They are eliminating a team every game that is played now, and tomorrow the USA plays Bosnia- Herzegovina in their fist potential elimination game. GO USA! Be safe out there.

Today we traveled to watch our granddaughter while her parents went out. It has been a lot of fun, and we are getting ready to drink milk, read a book, brush and flush, and head to bed. It was a terrific evening. Mike figured out the tv so it’s soccer time. Be safe out there.

showing the temperature was 71°. It started out foggy in Wessagusset, but by the time I took my photos this afternoon it was partly cloudy. It was a warm day, but there a sporadic breeze off the water which helped. In the distance in the last photo today you can see the fog bank in the distance. A severe heat warning has been issued for us from Wednesday through Friday this week. It will be a good time to lay low, and stay cool with the air conditioning. We had our weekly video phone call with our kids and grandkids today. It was a great call, with the grandkids participating a lot. They are both on summer vacation now, and they are enjoying that. showing the temperature was 72°. It was a partly cloudy day in Wessagusset. It was comfortable outside, and there wasn’t even wind off the water which helped make the humidity not feel so bad. Once the sun set it began to feel a bit cooler, so it was a nice ending to the afternoon. It was a quiet day with more World Cup soccer. We watched England finally get two goals in the second half to beat Panama. Now we are watching Columbia play Portugal. They are in the second half with no score yet. I must say, I do enjoy watching soccer that is so good. It isn’t boring, or amateurish, and you never know what is going to happen. Be safe out there.

There wasn’t even a hint of a breeze off the water to help cool things down. We went to Chestnut Hill today to have my annual skin check to make sure all is well as it always has been. The news was good once again, and barring my finding something to have checked, I will return next year to be checked again. I am very fair, so it is always a concern, but a clean bill of health is as good as it gets. Be safe out there.

Mike spent some time at the city house, and I watched soccer this afternoon and tonight. Unfortunately, the USA lost their game tonight against Turkey. They did play a team of subs, but giving up the winning goal with only two minutes left was ridiculous. Here’s hoping we go into the knock out round rested, and ready to play. The good news is the Red Sox beat the Yankees while no one was watching. Be safe out there.

I watched Scotland play Brazil in the World Cup this evening. Scotland lost 3-0 which I found disappointing. Scotland now has to wait until Saturday to see if they will advance. I hope they make it. They were so wonderful when they were in Boston, and I’d love them to return. Be safe out there.

It was another day of telephone calls about the delivery we refused on Saturday. Luckily tonight I got a forwarded message that when the shipment is returned to the sender we will get a full refund. We went to see Toy Story 5, which was a great film for kids and adults, then we came home, and she spent a lot of time playing with our dog. We finally turned on Nickelodeon, and watched the end of Despicable Me 3, which is one of her favorites. Her parents arrived with Chinese food, and it was a delicious ending to a wonderful day. We are bidding goodbye to the Scots, who are moving with their World Cup team to Miami from Boston. I’m certainly going to miss the people who have brought so much joy, and fun not only to the city, but to New England, and its people. It was also very windy, with some gusts over 30mph. It was definitely a soccer game day. We watched the. USA play Australia, and they won 2-0. I watched Scotland play Morocco, and Morocco won 1-0. Now it is Brazil playing Haiti, and early on Brazil just scored. I have really enjoyed watching the World Cup games this year. The soccer has been outstanding. Be safe out there

This evening we weren’t in the area of Massachusetts that had a tornado watch, but my brother and one of my sons were. I called both of them to warn them. Besides the tornado watch they were in line for strong thunder storms. Here we just had torrential rain, that came in so fast the floor was wet from the rain by the time I crossed the room to get to close the door and windows. After it passed it was much more comfortable, and welcome relief was here at last. Hopefully, it will be a quiet night. Be safe out there.

showing the temperature was 71°. Happy Bunker Hill Day! It is a day we celebrate in Suffolk County in Massachusetts by remembering the brave colonists who fought the British on June 17, 1775. The battle actually took place on Breed’s Hill in Charlestown (a neighborhood of Boston). The colonists were ordered to fortify Bunker Hill, but instead fortified the lower Breed’s Hill. Since a mapping error was made by the British in July 1775, it was named the Battle of Bunker Hill, and is called that to the present day. The colonials were ordered by General William Prescott, “Don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes!” due to a lack of ammunition. He died during the battle, the colonists retreated, but caused great casualties on the British troops.
