oh your hollow knight amigurumi is *incredible*!!! i'd be so tempted to ask for the pattern but i assume it's original, so instead, may i ask how you got the spikes on its horns to look so clean? i've been trying to work up my own pattern, but those jaggedy bits keep making me bluescreen every time i get that far lol. in any case you are *fantastic* at this and it is so neat seeing your work <3
Thank you!! It is indeed an original but I would absolutely give you the pattern... if I had one lol. I was actually trying to write it down this time but after over 20 hours of trial and so much goddamn error on the head alone I eventually gave up haha (for some reason I succeed more when I stop trying to keep track don't ask me why)
Buuuuuuuut I do actually still have some very vague and poorly written (and admittedly incomplete) notes on the head/base horns I'm happy to give you if you want them. The whole process is still fresh enough in my mind too that I can sort of say what I did without actually being able to give exact stitches if there are other parts of the build that you're interested in.
As for those little smaller jaggedy horns, they're actually not part of the base! I did try to incorporate them into the head base itself but it was literal hell so I abandoned that idea pretty quickly lol
I don't have the pattern for those parts at all but I can definitely explain what I did. Worth noting for this too that I did not construct the head the normal way - most people seem to go pointy part of the face and then work upwards. I started with the horn tip and worked downwards - the head is actually two identical horns sewn together in the middle.
For the jaggedy bits, I worked directly into the base - no chains and very minimal sewing. It was something like... uh. Sc, hdc, 2dc, hdc sc, slst, then turn around and do something likeeee uh. I think it was sc, dc, ch1, 2 or 3 tc, ch1, dc, sc (take this with a grain of salt, my memory is bad). And then I just kinda sewed the top part down towards the base of the nub and to the head to make it a point.
The top most one was basically the same but with fewer stitches I think? Since the horns are a lot narrower there.
I dunno if this is making sense or not ^^'
