I think Wally would be surprised to find out He’s short (Maybe he’s never thought fully about the concepts of short and tall) But I Imagine him and Barnaby go to Howdy’s Place everyday for hot dogs, and Howdy always calls Wally a shrimp.
He’d ask, “Why do you call me a shrimp?” And Barn would explain, “Well, Shrimps are small, bud! You’re small, just like a shrimp!” And Wally would stand there, confused, but with a Hot dog in his hands.
(Ehehe, adding in my own Tags so they don’t get lost because I’m jotting down more!!! For mE!!!)
I imagine Eddie must be walking out of his Post Office across the way from them and Wally calls out to him, “Eddie, are you taller than me?”
And Eddie would jump up but politely walk over to them and he’d say, "’Scuse me?” and Wally would repeat himself, “Eddie, are you taller than me?” And there would be a moment of befuddled silence from Eddie before looking down at himself and then back to Wally.
“Well, you’re lookin’ up at me aren’t you?” And Wally would say, “Yes.” and Eddie would continue, “And I gotta look down at you to see you, don’t I?” And Wally would say, “Yes.” again. “Well then I’d say so! Why, is that no good?”
And Wally would shake his head and think, “No. I just wanted to make sure.” Barnaby’s been watching this lesson while eating his Hot dog! (I didn’t forget him!)
Word spreads quickly in Home (So few residents, and height must be a Hot Topic!) By which I mean Wally and Barnaby walk about as they usually do and ask others about height- Frank and Julie always together would be Confronted by them next-
“Julie, are you taller than me?” Which Julie would respond, “Yes!!!” before wrapping her arms around him to Pick him up just enough for her to continue, “But now you’re taller than Me!!!”
“You two are the same height.” Frank would correct her. “Your hair doesn’t count for your height!”
“But I’m all hair! You’re tellin’ me I ain’t taller than Wally?!” Barnaby would pretend to cry and be quickly met with Frank’s angry response of, “You know that’s not what I meant, and that’s fur! Not hair!”
“Are you taller than me, Frank?” Wally would butt as Julie continues to hold him up. “Of course.” Frank would reply, before pointing at Julie too. “I’m also taller than Julie!”
Julie would let out an Indignant, “Hey!!” Before falling onto the ground with Wally.
I imagine this all must be taking its place outside of Poppy’s little barn, just as she is helping Sally with some sort of rehearsal. Sally must intervene, I think, everyone is gathered outside and they’re so loud.
“Sally, are you taller than me?” Wally would ask as soon as he Sees her walk out of Poppy’s Barn, and just as Frank helps him off the ground. She’d scoff of course!
“I was much taller than all of you once before!” She’d say smugly, but Frank would correct her.
“You were not taller! You were higher up than us because you were a star in the sky!” Frank would correct her. “You are also short!”
Poppy would meekly peak out from the front door of her Barn, but she wouldn’t come outside. Unfortunately, Barnaby would point at her and exclaim, “Yeah! But Poppy over there is as tall as me, I bet!”
Poppy would let out a fearful squawk in response and tuck herself back into her home. Wally would politely walk over to it and give it a gentle tap. “Poppy, are you taller than me?”
“Yes.” She would meekly respond before reaching a big feather’d mitt through the door to pat Wally’s head. “You are shorter than me… But you know who is taller than all of us?”
Her feathers gesture over to Wally’s house and the crowd looks over at Home. She’s right.
“Home, you’re taller than me.” Wally says affirmatively. Home just opens and closes they’re front door.

General information:
Their entire lifecycle is based off bugs and thus they go through instars or larval stages of growth before they eventually cocoon and pupate and finally emerge as fully fledged adults
Through some strange modifications to their genetic and biological code, the ancients were able to make them grow their own biomechanical components through ingesting inorganic and organic material
Much more detailed under a microscope, their biomechanical structures are layered as if they were 3D printed on, but include interwoven organic components such as nerves and blood vessels
Vultures are opportunistic and will even result to cannibalism
Hatchling / 1st Instar:
multiple hatchlings will hatch all at once in a single clutch and immediately fight each other, eventually killing and consuming the loser, thus resulting in only a few grubs surviving
Nutrients gained from their siblings and material eaten from the environment around them is used to form the headpiece as quickly as possible
the modified head is used as its primary defense in the larval stage, calling adult vultures in hopes that it'll deter it's attacker- though the vultures that do arrive are most likely not the parents and will eat the grub at any given chance
5th Instar:
By now the grub has eaten as much nutrients as it could and will soon undergo pupation
The grub's first four legs have elongated to aid in travel as they will seek refuge in high perches where they will hide away and cocoon
They are swift and hard to spot in this stage because of their grime covered coat
Pupation / Near emergence:
After spinning its cocoon, the silk hardens and thickens into a tough ball
The silk is woven in with specific nutrients that promote plant growth to further hide the cocoon
After an undetermined amount of time, the cocoon gradually expands as the pupa grows into the adult form; the expansion leaves translucent areas where the silk is thin
Adult Vulture:
The engines and mask are a result of a mixture of bone-like material and metal-like material and are very hard to break
They are aware of how strong their own mask is so they stray from fighting each other, only ever attacking another vulture if they've lost their mask; this is an instinctive behavior both driven by their opportunistic nature and seeing a maskless vulture as sick or injured
As with the majority of creatures, the skin of a vulture is smooth and porous, but instead has patches of hair-like protrusions
Through a mysterious process, vultures are able to synthesize various chemicals to aid in flight, namely helium gas, which is pumped into the feathers
This process brings toxic byproducts: chlorine and iodine gas, which is forcefully expelled alongside the helium through the engines and out of the creature
A vulture's engines are raised occasionally to allow more airflow and a faster exchange of gas as standalone they accumulate these chemicals regardless of exertion
The feathers of a vulture are akin to swim bladders and are inflated with helium gas to allow the creature to fly, the feathers retain their flat shape but the skin is expanded and shows the true colors of the wings, when deflated the feathers are black in color
When on the ground, the feathers of a vulture are deflated and much tougher, their wings will curl into "fists" as they walk, occasionally extending their wings to grab ahold of things with their prolegs
Previously as a grub, they had 4 developed legs before they pupate, the mid legs turned into a pair of weak grabbing arms, mainly used to preen the creature
The grub's last pair of legs became fat reserves
The jaws of a vulture are pretty animal-like and only have a top and bottom jaw, they also have pedipalps which are used to preen, grab, and feel things
Unknown as to how they originated, bear slightly different genetic coding compared to normal vultures, namely noticed with the mysterious brand on their masks
the vulture is larger to accommodate a second pair of lungs solely used to power the harpoon mechanism
The harpoon is shot via a swift expulsion of air similar to a sneeze, through the cables that they stiffen and expand, sending the harpoon flying at dangerous speeds
Relaxation of the cables allows them to slowly retract back on their own

basically, i think the general rule of thumb is: if someone REALLY wants the blood that’s inside of your body, and they’re like… a vampire, or a dracula, or some sort of mansquito, then that’s probably okay. a dracula and a mansquito are made for removing things like blood and swords from inside your body. that’s basically fine.
if something wants to get at your blood, and they’re, say, some kind of murdersaurus, or maybe a really big frog, that’s where the problems start to arise. a really frog is not made for removing blood, and your blood knows this, which is why it is so vehement about wanting to stay IN your body instead of coming out.
unfortunately this will not deter a really big frog, because a really big frog is full of things like prizes, and value, and quite a lot of hatred, and it would REALLY rather like to replace any and all of those things with your blood, and basically by any means possible.
I think, as time Passes And I experience a wave of new items I must address, that I will do so accordingly and place them up for others to see! (I Am very new to this, So Please Bare with me!) But for those inquiring about this, I will address it as follows!
Please do NOT BUY or SELL anything with Welcome Home's name attached in any way, NOR any of its characters, (Wally Darling, Frank Frankly, Home, etc!) I presently am not involved with ANYONE in regards to merchandise at this moment in time. I need to organize my side of things at the moment, until then I do not have plans for merchandise! Please respect my copyright and the pace at which I must currently sustain.
If you have found skins for sale on websites such as Roblox or VR, they are unauthorized and I will work on removing them at my own pace. I do not mind if models or skins are made, as long as they are given away freely to others and are not sold.
My Fan Merch policy may change as I actually begin creating Welcome Home, but at this moment in time I ask for you NOT to sell or buy merchandise of Welcome Home on places like Etsy, RedBubble, conventions, etc. I will work on removing them at my own pace. (I am very sorry to do this, but to see folks so quickly move to profit off of my work is very strange.) Even if it is for yourself on larger sticker or shirt websites, please make it yourself and do not have it listed publicly to be sold and bought by others.
Please do not sell images or characters that have Welcome Home attached to their inspiration (I only ask that you remove the title, 'Welcome Home!' I don't mind that they are inspired, but Welcome Home is very important to me, please do not attach it to your work to sell characters!) This includes fan-created games, adoptable characters, and AU projects.
Also if you are a company (Similarly to the likes of Hot Topic, you know) You may NOT sell Welcome Home Merchandise of any kind. Again, I am not involved with anyone at the moment in regards to merchandise, please respect the pace at which I handle this newfound workload.
HOWEVER, I think I am fine if you commission One-off pieces from other ARTISTS. (Small plushes, tattoo designs, crotchet works, etc!) As long as they are not sold in mass supply or advertised as such! I do not consent to my characters being sent to plush-making websites and businesses. I do not consent to my artwork being sent through sticker or shirt-making websites as well. I also don't mind if you make it for yourself or your friends, too! Or even make it for yourself!
