Hello!!! I was wondering if I could request a Inosuke X Sibling! Reader?? Or maybe like they see each other as siblings? Either way is perfectly fine
You pace around your room, looking at it as you tried to take in the amount of mess that has taken over your room. For the past couple of days, your daily routine was: wake up, eat, work, pass out. Things have been so busy here at the Butterfly Estate, apparently there was a huge battle and that sent everyone here to be treated. Even if you weren’t as good as Shinobu, you were glad to help out around the estate, treating and cleaning wounds.
Sometimes you would even help some of the slayers train, you passed the exam and you undoubtedly had talent, you even received guidance from some of the pillars but after that week in the mountains, you haven’t slayed a single demon. Instead, you hung up your sword and worked with under Shinobu to at least help those who were brave enough to risk their lives.
You looked at the clothes basket, your clothes were everywhere except the basket. The messy bed, the dusty shelves, and the dirt on the floor made you sigh, deeply. You knew that cleaning your room would be a whole day activity.
You started with your clothes, putting all the dirty ones inside the basket. Once you were done, you looked at your shelf, there was nothing much on it, just some books and the sword that was made for you. You always kept the sword to remind you that you were weak and that the least you could do was to nurse some slayers back to health.
As you were examining the sword, something in the corner caught your eyes and it was something that you haven’t thought off in a while. It was a picture that you always kept. The contents of the picture were that of a woman, a beautiful woman, your mother and she was next to your two year old self and a baby in her arms.
The picture didn’t tell you much except that you definitely inherited your beauty from your mother, and you had a sibling, somewhere out there.Alas, you’ve long given up on the hope of trying to find your remaining family. You were so lost in thought that you didn’t notice Inosuke coming into your room.
“(Y/n), hello ” He greets with a booming voice, slamming the door open. You give him a general greeting still thinking bout your family. He walks past you and jumps into your bed, and you hear a soft creak from the impact of his body weight.
“(Y/n), this room is a mess.” He remarks, the boar mask still safely on his head. You always wondered why he was always wearing it but this wasn’t the time to ask, you had to clean your room.
“Ugh, get off the bed. Why are you even here?” You question bluntly. You weren’t afraid to be blunt with Inosuke, because he never understands unless you put in bluntly and also the fact that you were close enough with Inosuke to be this blunt.
It was quite funny how both of you had even gotten close. He would get injured a lot, and despite the numerous warning for him to stay in bed because of his broken bones, he always got up and tried to fight the closes person. You were tired and he was not laying down, making your job infinitely harder. You remember promising him if he healed completely, you would fight him, Of course, you had won some but he wasn’t satisfied with one match, he kept asking for a rematch. He had won some but he also lost some. It took Shinobu dragging both of you by the ear at 3 am for you to stop your sparing session.
After that day, Inosuke had turned into a tame boar, following your orders of rest because he knew how strong you were, but that didn’t stop him from asking you for some sparring session. You had the feeling that was the reason why he was here.
“FIGHT ME!” He exclaims,” This time I will beat you,”
“I have to clean my room, Inosuke.” You reply. All this time your focus was being pulled between Inosuke and the picture of your mother. You didn’t know why you were suddenly thing about that picture, you’ve had it for years.
“No, we need to fight!” He stands up, pulling you to a place to draw your swords, wooden swords of course.” Nobody here is as strong as you and I will defeat you today.”
“Fine…. but we won’t take long.” You say, but you knew you wouldn’t be able to come back to clean your room.
You find a nice open space, near the woods. Inosuke’s swords were set aside and were replaced with two wooden swords in his hand, you on the other hand only hadone. Fighting with a dual wielder will be hard but not impossible.
You clashed swords the whole afternoon, long enough for night to come. After your third win you realized that something had been off with Inosuke, he was slower that usual and his movements were sluggish.
Realization had hit you like a brick. You cursed yourself for not noticing sooner. He was sick. He wasn’t taking as much, sweat seemed to rolling off him like a waterfall despite the cold air and when you offered him his favorite snack, he only took one bite and gave you the rest.
“Inosuke,” You snapped, fuming with rage.” Don’t lie to me. You’re sick.”
“Are you ridiculous? I never get sick.”
“I-I’m not sick.” His breath was ragged as he stammered. You knew he was sick and you needed to determine how sick, and if you needed to carry him back.
“Sit.” You order, the anger present on your tone. Inosukeknew that he couldn’t fight back so he complied with your request. You move your hand to take off his boar mask so that you could get his temperature but he moves to stop you.
“It’s okay, I just need to take your temperature,” You say.”I’m sorry I got mad okay?”
He didn’t respond and you didn’t know if it was because he was mad at your or if he was tried but you take of his boar mask either way. Immediately, you were met with bright green eyes and a mop of blackish-blue hair. He looked familiar, you felt you’ve seen him somewhere. But you dismiss it, others havecommented how you both have the same eyes, the only difference in your appearance was that your hair was more blue than black. You focus your full attention to making sure Inosuke is well enough to move, so that you could properly treat him at the estate.
You were falling. Things happened so fast. You were getting ready to leave when you were pushed aside, Inosuke tackling you to the ground. You were about to question him on his actions, with a very stern lecture afterwards, when you felt something warm on your hand. Blood.
Inosuke immediately gets off you, running and shouting at whatever was there. You freeze, it was night time already, of course there would bedemons. You try to stay calm but it was hard. At the corner of your eye you seen inosuke fighting, with his wooden sword, only noticing the gash on hisback now. His nichirin swords were next to you, tucked in nicely next to your stuff.
You had to do something. You had to get up, you had to fight..or else….or else Inosuke would die. The wound on his back and the fact that he wassick convinced you that he would die and it would be your fault, all because you were too much of a coward. You were ashamed, here you were cowering in full health when Inosuke was risking his life to protect you, sick and wounded.
“Give up. You’re only going to die.” The demon remarked, convinced that he already won.” I’ll kill you then that girl.”
“I won’t let you kill her.” Inosuke huffed, the fatigue of the training, the wound on his back, and his sickness taking a toll on his body.
You couldn’t let him die, so you picked up his sword. You’re jagged breath were making it hard for you to breath. Tears were dropping in pools. You were scared, you were a coward.
“Don’t give up (Y/n).” You hear Inosuke scream, grabbing your attention,” Run if you can. I won’t let you die.”
You were about to tell him that you weren’t going to leave him, but your words were replaced with a scream as you see the demon, kick him, sending him flying backwards. He wasn’t moving. He was dead.
“Hehehe” You hear the demon say, triumphant in his victory,” It’s your turn to die now.”
Your mind goes blank and red is everywhere. You pick up Inoske’s sword. Rage filling your once scared mind. Replacing your fears with grief and anger.
“Die,” You mutter,” Scum like you don’t deserve to live.”
“I’m going to enjoy eating you.”
You remove his swords from their binding, and get ready to attack. You go to your position and you take a deep breath. You were ready to attack.
“Breath of Flame,” You roared.” Second Form: Rising Scorching Sun.”
You attack him but it isn’t enough, he was still alive, and you knew the sword wouldn’t last that long but You were prepared to fight even if the blades broke off. Good thing you had two.
You attack once more and the sword breaks. You were running out of time. The Breath of Flame took out much of your energy, considering you hadn’t used it in a while. You pick up the other sword, sweaty and tired but determined to win this fight and get ready to unleash your third attack. This was your last chance before you were left with two broken swords, forcing you to attack until you die or the sun comes up.
“Breath of Flame,” You say taking in the air, remembering all that your master had taught you. “First Form: Unknowing Fire.”
You run at light speed and in one strike, the demon was dead. You collapse, you finally won. The slight image of your master’s overjoyed face came if he ever knew that you had used the Breath of Flameagain.
“Not bad for someone rusty,” You remark.
Not forgetting Inosuke, you run to him and you cried because he was breathing. He was alive. Although, you didn’t know for how long, so dropping the sword, making a mental note to come back for it later and apologize for breaking it, you picked Inosuke up.
It wasn’t long until you were at the Butterfly Estate, with the others wondering about the injuries that scattered you both nevertheless they Inosuke away to be treated and lead you away to be examined.
It wasn’t unti two hours later where you had been examined. You only had minor injuries, and was sent to sleep with a hug and a pat on the back. They had informed you that Inosuke was awake, but still definitely sick and in dire need of rest. They told you he was looking for you and that you could visit but for a short time only but you refused, not wanting to see him, if only you acted quicker, then he would be fine. Guilt was eating you alive but you were too tired to crumble and cry.
You open the door to your room and is greeted by a very messy room, you were right, when you left with Inosuke you were never getting the chance to clean your room. You walk to go to your bed but the picture catches your eyes again. The picture of your family. You look at the face of your mother and for a split second, you thought it was a picture of Inosuke. You played it off as fatigue playing tricks on you. Why in the world would you see Inosuke as your mother? It’s not like you were family…….
You run, the whole house hearing your heavy footsteps. The picture, tight in your hands. No way, there was no way that Inosuke was your brother. You ignore the shouts coming form the other that you should be resting, only making you run faster untilyou’re outside his opened door- huffing- trying to catch your breath.
He was asleep when you hold out the picture in front of him, without his mask it was easy to comparing his face to your mothers. It all made sense now, the green eyes and the blue hair. It was the same as your’s and your mothers. It was confirmed, Inosuke was your brother.
You crumble next to him, finally happy to have found your family. You cry softly next to his sleeping figure, happy and still in shocked about the truth. You crouch next to him, and pat his head like you’ve done many times when he was under your care.
“I’ll never lose you again. I promise to protect you forever.” You say, glad that you finally had someone to call family now.
