Why is Rob not looking at me?
"Take The Crown" Shines
When Robbie sings that they said the magic was leaving him, his response is a resounding "I don't think so!" And it hasn't, "Take The Crown" is a jewel of an album that leaves you with the need for repeated listens.
The upbeat "Gospel" climaxes with a response to his fan-base as well as to his detractors with the "Drink to you, you always wished me well and those that don't go f**k yourself". "Candy" is an atypically happy pop song which to those familiar with Robbie's music may be unsettling at first listen but is followed by the familiar sadness of "Different" which Robbie sings with the emotion of one losing a lover.
"Into The Silence" feels like a lost gem from U2's "The Joshua Tree" while Robbie then finds himself channeling Foo Fighters in the upbeat rock of "Not Like The Others". Take The Crown wonderfully ends with the country sound of The Belle Brigades "Losers" which when sung with folk singer Lissie, finds a mature sounding Robbie who seems to takes the lyrics to heart about no longer needing to be in the circle of celebrity competition.
"Take The Crown" finds Robbie Williams in great musical form and leaves the listener hoping that it doesn't take multiple years for his next album's release .
Gonna "Take The Crown" and "Be A Boy" and spread it like it's "Gospel" and let everyone take in the sound like it's "Candy". When you listen you'll know it's "Different" than the rest of the "Shit That's On The Radio".
After one listen it's "All I Want" to listen to. Now I'm "Hunting For You" with all the rest of the Friendlies "Into The Silence" and into the noise for everyone to yell "Hey Wow Yeah Yeah" that the new Robbie Williams CD rules!!!
After one listen, they'll all know's it's "Not Like The Others" the "Losers" all listen to, but in fact quite the "Reverse" where they will know that the only one way to describe the new Robbie Williams CD is with "Eight Letters".

"What's a sweetheart like you doing in a dump like this?"
A sweet but sleazy song by the great Bob Dylan.

Any clues why I can't reply to a blog here on this site. Isn't that the purpose of a blog... somewhat?
