I habe been away from Tumblr for so long due to work and school that I have forgotten how to Tumble.

But, as I return, I noticed direct messages are gone?!?! Like no 1 on 1 chats anymore? Is it a paid feature now?

I’m having to Ask A Question to get some emergency funding assistance and I honestly don’t know if they are receiving messages.

And the Full Moon has things all crazy-like over here as I’m panicking about my dogs not having food. Life on the streets destroyed their teefs and after thousands paid to extract them (thanks CareCredit), the only food they’ll eat is FreshPet (which has to be refrigerated).

The damn fridge is out and there’s not food banks available on Monday for some weird logistical reason that someone needs to explain to me.

So, here I am, electronically spare changing a $40 loan from someone I met online, sort of befriended, followed on Twitch, had me follow them here.

I just need a little grace, Universe. Not much. Just enough to get dog and some pb&j style basics for the next 96 hours.

Old people use quotation marks to indicate emphasis, as a substitute for italics (which many of them could not produce on the old typewriters they learned to write on), whereas young people use them to indicate sarcasm or falseness. They’re used as “scare quotes”.

And old people use ellipses simply to indicate a pause, or for some other incomprehensible reason I’m not aware of. But young people use ellipses to indicate passive-aggression.

So an old person could type something like:

how are things going with your “boyfriend”….

and what they mean is

How are things going with your boyfriend? [Im so excited for you, sweetie, and I wanna hear about it]

But a young person would interpret that sentence as

How are things going with your so-called boyfriend…. [I say, while seething with contempt for him and possibly for you too]

I’m running a marathon right now. But not just aby marathon. It’s the Boston Marathon of Disability.

I have to have an MRI on Tuesday. No big deal. I have had many of those.

What’s the marathon part is not being permitted any pain-relieving medication until after the scan.

You see, in the Boston Marathon, the final mile is up Heartbreak Hill. It’s like a 7% grade as your muscles are screaming from the run and lactic acid buildup is occurring.

For me, my Heartbreak Hill is that I have to be mobile at work tomorrow, sitting all day and adding strain to the injured area. It’s a 10 hour shift without any fellow coworkers.

I’m already exhausted from the pain. Two days left to go.

I am on my knees begging, begging people to remember disabled people in the LGBTQ+ community this month. Please don't leave us to die.

COVID never ended and it made many people immunocompromised. Wear a mask at Pride events (and other places too). Yes, even if it makes you uncomfy or doesn't match your outfit.

Some anti-trans laws are specifically targeting mentally disabled people, arguing that we're not capable of making decisions about our own bodies and thus should not be allowed to medically transition. Include us in discussions about trans legislation.

Disabled people already face high discrimination in work and housing, and it's worse for those who are LGBTQ+. Stand up for your disabled and LGBTQ+ peers.

Some disabled people with caretakers can't come out because the people they depend on aren't safe. Support closeted LGBTQ+ people.

The insurance companies that always find a reason not to cover gender-affirming surgery are the same ones that always find a reason not to cover medication or therapy or mobility aids. Have some solidarity with disabled people who have to fight against the same greedy pigs you do.

Make sure Pride events are accessable to mobility aid users, people with service animals or caretakers, people with sensory issues, etc. Or at the very least, be honest if they're not, so people don't waste their time going there only to discover they can't participate.

It breaks my heart seeing so-called leftists throwing their disabled siblings to the wolves. You like to say that you'd punch a Nazi, throw bricks at police cars, fight tooth and nail for the rights of LGBTQ+ people... But the moment it concerns disabled LGBTQ+ people, you drop your support like a rock. Your hypocrisy is disgusting, and it's going to kill many people in the LGBTQ+ community this Pride month unless you take a moment to realize that, whether you like it or not, some of us are disabled and we don't deserve to die for that.

I’m in a wheelchair and couldn’t attend pride this year because there wasn’t wheelchair access to the entrance sidewalk.

Security had to help carry/lift me into my wheelchair on the sidewalk only to then be treated to a grass infield for the event (I have terrain wheels but didn’t know I needed them. I had called ahead and there was clearly a misunderstanding when I specifically asked what type of wheel would be needed).

We wound up having to leave.

I hope western leftists know that standing for a free Palestine is not the end of decolonization. I've seen far too many white leftists who proudly stand for freeing Palestine which is good but then get nervous and apprehensive at the idea of decolonizing the very land they are on. Norway will recognize Palestine but actively tear down Sámi liberation. Liberation for one people means it for us all. If you support Palestinian liberation but deny it for the Indigenous people of the land you're on then you didn't stand for Palestinians or any of us to begin with.
