— The world’s not all sunshine and roses, that Jaelyn had figured out at an early age. Being different had brought many, many struggles. Struggles, that were hard to deal with for a young girl. She had not been raised by her father, he had never been in the picture. It wasn’t until later that she figured out who her father was and why she was thirsting after blood and murder.

She had to straighten her back for it to stop hurting, a sign her posture had become worse than it already was. “They’re naive if they think I’m going to clean up after their asses.” Jaelyn grumbled under her breath. “Are you just going to keep on standing there?”

— Kohen’s nose gets wind of a stench in the air, an odor he knew all too well. It had always been easier for him to tell when people just weren’t...right. But as disgusting to him as it was, all he can do is endure it. Thinking it would be rather rude to inform the girl she reeked of a smell that she probably wasn’t aware she even had and seeing as he was still a “newbie” of sorts despite the two years that passed since his turning, he’d probably end up on the ground ripped in pieces. He swiped his tongue across his teeth as he looked around, careful to not nick it on the sharp fangs he would normally keep hidden but given the current circumstance he figured it’d be useless trying to hide his vampirism now. ❝Well I was kind of planning on it. Unless you’re expecting me to be the clean-up maid in this situation.❝

— The only thing that can be heard from Kohen is the soft sigh he exhaled under his breath. Very simple words uttered so quietly that it could have been dismissed so easily by anyone else. He wasn’t even sure if it was meant for him to hear it as well.. curse that excellent hearing of his.
