i don't really think xiao would ever actually eat your dreams for several reasons, but i do really like the idea of it haunting his own dreams... they're nightmares more often than not, where he's back there again and forced to eat your dreams or—worse—where he loses all restraint and the look of fear turning to apathy when you realise what a monstrous thing he really is will never leave his mind. sometimes they're sweet and you feed him your own soul willingly and he wakes up nauseous. regardless of the content of the dream, every time he wakes up there's an aftertaste he can't shake for days, and now when he can't bring himself to fall asleep his mind starts to wander over to what your dreams would taste like. despite how sick it makes him, despite how he can't look you in the eye afterwards and how shame creeps up his neck and to his ears, the contemplation brings him some comfort.

Yandere Doppelganger

Just a concept I had in mind for a while and was rotting my brain so here's the basic ideas under the cut:

•They were originally an experiment made by the government. Unlike your usual doppelgangers, they were a bit different and more powerful, designed to be used as a killikg/spying tool in future wars

•They got to escape the lab after a few years with several experiments and abuse, growing to hate humans

•Later on, alredy adapated to society and camouflaging themselves with the appearance of any person, got to interact with you but you caught their eye(s). As time passed by, they noticed themselves not thinking about *killing* you, but rather...love you?

•Time later they somehow managed to break into your house while you were away. While exploring your room they found some magazines and merchandise of some cute idol boy. You seemed to really like him, huh...

•They decided to accommodate your tastes and of course, shape shifted into the person you like the most! Aren't they so awesome? Of course you'll love them that way, won't you?

•Despite your many protests and shock, they don't seem to go, no matter how much you insist or threaten them even when you eventually realize they're not the actual idol you like (obviously)

•Now you're trapped with a doppelganger who acts like some type of lover-maid dude! Sure, their personality is still pretty narcissist and annoying, and you noticed they have a habit of objectifying themselves, but they always make sure you don't have to lift a finger around the house you can't really complain that much

•Just don't ask what happened about that neighbor next door you once complained about being too loud

& yet another sneak peek of how the new guys would react to you asking for something like this bc i'm still working on their intro hcs but want to share more abt them so bad. and i think their reactions in particular would be funny

1: you haven't even finished the sentence and he's already clambering under your desk and asking you whether you'd prefer to use your foot or his hand for the live service "studying noises". doesn't care if anyone sees. has no shame and takes your request very seriously—he lives to serve you. literally. this isn't in his job description but when has that ever stopped him

2: uhh… okay… sure. he can do that. incredibly embarrassed about it and doesn't want to be seen or caught by others, but refuses to stop when you tell him you were joking. his dignity is going to take a huge hit if he doesn't follow through now, okay? more whimpering and whining and breathy noises than what you were hoping for and at that point you might as well do him

3: combusts and can't talk to you for a good bit. on one hand, something like that should be reserved for private and intimate moments, not something like studying background noises. on the other the idea of being used like that by you specifically is… don't look at their pants. a bit too shy to go through with it unless you really corner them though

4: turns back your joke and offers you a different service—aren't you tired of all this studying and working hard? don't you want to wind down? don't you deserve a reward? let her go down on you. 100% serious and will do this in your study without bothering to lock the doors. and then also by coincidence the next time she visits she's brought you the newest model of gramophone with a special disc recorded just for you

5: covers his mouth daintily to pretend he's not outright salivating at the thought (it's obvious anyway). he doesn't even think twice about it, just goes straight to asking how and when do you want him? he's more than happy to provide you live service all day long, and even to clean up his own mess afterwards! you can even slap him when he's being too loud. it won't make him quieter but it'll feel good for both of you

6: calls you a pervert and sends you an exact replica of the whole video you're referencing with his own voice that evening. and then asks you what sort of changes you'd like him to make for the next recording. somehow sounds way better in the borderline porno he sends you of himself than when he's recording in the studio…? he'll do better if you give him a kiss for good luck each time, you know

7: understandably takes the request as a joke, but just in case takes several different recordings. just in case. finds the whole thing incredibly dirty and can't listen to his own moans and whimpering, but the taboo aspect just makes him all the more sensitive. edits them properly and everything. is about to delete his text message when he accidentally sends them to you instead and dies on the spot (will send you more if you heart react to his message)

And maybe it's just bc I've read too many manhwas, but while I really like how you handled it and would not at all mind seeing your take on it bc it's guaranteed to be interesting. "MC becoming the villainess" is like THE otome isekai setup and I'm honestly starting to be a bit tired of it 🥲

THAT'S FAIR..... i hadn't thought of it that way but you're right. mc gets to be the villainess' gender neutral lackey turned one-sided love interest this time instead..... it's winning with a pretty big lead so that's probably the option i'll go with. this was also one of my biggest roadblocks so *cracks knuckles*

tho it's interesting to me how the idea of the mc becoming the villainess was originally a subversion of the genre of otome games (kind of.) and now it's become so popular the idea and genre has gotten almost too mainstream, to the point where there's now subversions of the subversion. which is fine! it's not like my ocs or their storyline are super deep or subversive either lol they just also happen to be subs/subby and yandere which is a bit rarer methinks. not enough sub yandere otome isekai stories </3

hiii so. i have an important question for you guys re: my ocs, particularly the villainess. basically some of the lore/plot stuff in my original idea doesn't really hold up bc i didn't think it through at the time and i want to change some of it so it's more coherent and works better with the other otome isekai/game characters. so i have two options:

option 1: make the body reader isekais into a separate person from the villainess altogether pros: muuuch easier to make reader 100% gender neutral, the simpler option, allows me to focus on your relationship with the other characters with less complications, i was thinking of making the reader('s body) chronically ill which would only be possible w/ this option. since a lot of otome isekais get weird abt this and i rarely see realistically ill characters/reader inserts cons: the original concept was more unique and this feels much more generic, previous owner of the body becomes largely obsolete/plot device which i feel is kind of boring, makes worldbuilding a bit harder since the reader isn't perceived as any particular gender (which is fine, the medieval (...not really) fantasy world can have normalised diversity, i'd just need to think abt how i would want to go about it bc i've been envisioning the world being a bit more rigid)

option 2: keep the original idea and make the reader isekai into the villainess' body—with the caveat of when she manages to return the two of you need to share it pros: the cooler option, would make worldbuilding a bit easier, previous owner of the body is a properly fleshed out character, the characters would have a lot more relations/interactions between each other both pre and post reader's arrival cons: harder to make the reader properly gender neutral (well the reader themselves is fine but. the villainess. yeah), your relationship and interactions with the villainess will be pretty noticeably different from the other characters. which i don't mind but idk if that'll maybe be a bit too complicated + as a result the reader's interactions w/ the other characters become more multifaceted, however i would need to rethink a couple of their relationships bc i just realised this would really fuck with several of them :sob:

a lot of scenarios where the dom initiates and kind of forces an uncomfortable sub into doing stuff in public/semi-public spaces but tbh i'd really like to see some where the sub is the one to do so. and honestly more predatory/nasty subs that ignore boundaries or push their limits instead of the dom being the one to do that in general

i say this a lot but i feel like dunmeshi really does have A Lot of yandere potential like. there's several main characters going to extremes to not lose the people they care about, there's a character focusing on making one person happy despite their protests where everyone else is basically collateral for a thousand years, there's so many other characters who might not show yan traits but their backstories basically set the scene for a yandere scenario with little tweaking of their current character….. and ofc i'm glad the actual story didn't go there but in fanfiction. you know. there's a lot of room to explore

but the people have spoken 🫡 next dunmeshi post will be actual yandere posting. idk when bc *gestures* no laptop but it'll exist. should i tag manga spoilers or nah? i feel like i have a lot more thoughts abt the stuff that hasn't been adapted into anime yet

yan who kidnaps you and tries to cheer you up with all your favourite things, not realising you might start associating everything you once liked with pure fear now....

they try to make the transition period easier for you by being like see! you might be locked in here forever but you have all your favourite things! ❤️ and then three months later every time you look at your favourite game you're thrown back into the fear you experienced during that moment and the yan realises they kind of fucked up big time.

cue them trying to associate those things with positive feelings again but you're still. you know. kidnapped
