i've set this to queue for a while so anyone who wants to ask can. i'm being very strict with who i give the url to, though, because for now i'd like to keep the follower count of my side blog as low as possible. i'm sure i won't be able to completely avoid the biggest mistake reblog of my life, but for now i'd like to keep myself to people who i know for certain follow me because they like me, not to antagonize me...which, by the way, is transparently obvious considering about 15 of you stopped following me as soon as i made the announcement--did you think you were clever? did you enjoy upsetting me? i sure hope you had fun, because that way at least one of us did. quite an unconventional form of harassment, but creative and sort of surprisingly effective. 10/10. i applaud your effort. i didn't realize inbreds could work together so well.

alright, i wasn't gonna reply to any messages from anons, but i'll make an exception here so i can explain why i dislike these stupid jokes one more time, clearly.
first of all, if i "get way too offended over everything," then you've obviously been around for a while, right? that's certainly what the "everything" implies. in that case, i encourage you to stop being such a shitty, worthless waste of genetic material and press the unfollow button instead of telling someone their feelings are invalid under the anonymity of the internet.
now that i've given you my suggestion on how to improve your life, i'll explain why exactly i think it is offensive.
the "shut up komaeda" thing originated, as far as i can tell, somewhere in the time period after the LP reached the part of the game where nanami asks komaeda to be silent during a trial, to which he complies immediately. the fandom ran with this, finding it hilarious that he simply stops talking on command, and there wouldn't be anything wrong with it if there weren't the context of his mental condition.
frontotemporal dementia is a nasty disease, and one of the most common and prominent symptoms is losing the ability to read the atmosphere of, say, a conversation. a person with ftd might, for instance, not realize they are upsetting the people around them. this is something komaeda has been shown to worry about, and i'd say it's for a good reason. however, while he's aware that what he's saying won't always be necessary or wanted, he's unable to figure that out for himself until he is made to understand the other person's reaction. so when nanami asked him to be silent, he complied.
the important thing to realize here is he WAS saying something unwarranted and unnecessary. that's why nanami interjected. and he did as she asked because if he can help it, he prefers not to unsettle people.
so, sure, it's just a joke, but it's a joke about a disease (a real one, i might add, with real people who suffer from it) that causes a long period of mental degradation before eventually leading to death. and i just don't think joking about that is funny. like, at all. i don't think jokes about cancer patients or alzheimer's patients, other diseases that kill slowly, are funny either, and i think it's absolutely abhorrent that so many people in the fandom see nothing wrong with it. of course, there are going to be cases where they're simply not aware of his condition, and that's something that can't be helped, but i've seen a fair amount of people i know to be spoiled going along with it too. everyone has a different sense of humor, but there are certain lines that just shouldn't be crossed for certain people. and this is one of those lines that shouldn't be crossed with me, because then i get cross, and knowing that i accidentally contributed to such a disgusting joke leaves me feeling very uncomfortable.
you're telling me i get too offended over everything, but it sounds like you're more offended that i'm offended, which is silly and stupid and demonstrates how insensitive to others you are. i hope you aren't someone i talk to on a regular basis, because i'm not sure i want to find out what else falls under "just a joke" to you.

you could also swap this url to a new sideblog, then create a new account and switch ownership of the sideblog with the url to the new account so that it’d reset your followers!!
if i do that, it won't be anytime soon because i have a feeling people will be like vultures circling a corpse trying to claim it for a while

komaeda is a very important character to me so i am definitely invested in keeping it even if it means i have to put up with the dangan ronpa fandom

i really stuck my foot in my mouth on this one, because the implication of the post, now, is that i'm "in" on these stupid offensive "shut the fuck up komaeda" jokes that the inbreds of tumblr seem to enjoy making, when i very very very very strongly disapprove of them
