I’m offering commissions!

I’m an illustrator who does character and creature art, and now you could pay me to draw something for you if you’d like! I can do either digital or traditional art, and if it’s traditional I can even mail you the hard copy if you want to chip in extra! In a previous version of this post, I said to contact me via email, but I have since realized I really don’t check my email often enough, so instead hit me up on Discord, mine is kombuchaclock. Once you’ve contacted me there we can switch to something else if you prefer. My timezone is PST and I’m most available in afternoons and evenings. Prices are in USD and must be paid upfront via Paypal, Venmo, or Cashapp. I can give either a partial refund (if I started the drawing) or full refund (if I hadn’t started it yet) if you feel it’s not done in a timely manner, but if time is a concern I recommend working out a deadline with me before I start. There are five slots open to begin with and I plan on doing them in the order they’re received.

SKETCH = $20

Relatively simple line art, usually in pencil. Can have A LITTLE color and/or ink, but that needs to be worked out before I start.

More detailed art with added color!

In lieu of a normal “Will Do” section, I’ll say that I’ll do most things, but reserve the right to refuse any commission. There are a few things I specifically WON’T do, though (the first two are more for my NSFW blog that I’m crossposting this to, but still):

x Illegal content.

x Morally objectionable content, such as hate speech.

x Full backgrounds.

x Full ref sheets.

x Original characters without a detailed description or suitable reference (the reference part is particularly important if you want it done right).

x Anything that’s excessively complicated, particularly machinery. I know this is vague, but that’s why we work it out beforehand!

Just to be on the safe side, please don’t resell my artwork without express permission, even if you commissioned it. These commissions are not meant for commercial use.

As a last note, I’m gonna crosspost this to my Pillowfort where I do NSFW art and both accounts will share the same slots, which I mention in case there’s a situation where I say slots are filled and then go on to post only three commissioned drawings here or something. The other two are too horny, in that case.

This isn't urgent; it may not be until November. However, come that month, I may be in trouble. I have done a little financial planning today and I don't think I'll have enough for my rent and bills that month. I moved recently out of my mom's house and into an apartment with my sister, this isn't our first time paying rent but it is our first time paying as much for rent as we are now, it's a pretty penny. Fresh reblog chain, the old one got too long. This was made in 2024 shortly after moving, I've been on-and-off struggling since. Currently, I have about $85 in my bank account, $80 of which will get taken out on the 16th for my internet bill, leaving me with $5 for the rest of the month. Idk how much I'll need but I know it's more than $5. If anybody is willing to send me anything, preferably before the 16th because I'm hoping to buy some groceries tomorrow, it would be much appreciated. You can also commission me if you want but I can't promise it'll be done quickly because my current job is really cutting into my time. If you can't send anything or afford a commission that's understandable, but in that case please share this. Collecting data on transgender chosen names would be very exciting and possibly challenging due to how onomastic records have been usually from religious or secular recordings often done at birth, census keeping, or in legal proceedings. Whereas for various reasons in various places and legal systems, trans people may not indicate why they are making those records, changing those records, or they may not ever make it a matter of public legal, secular, or religious record.

I'd love to hear from anyone actually studying this how they go about it, as I am a hobbyist and amateur enthusiast.

So Chuckability is measuring if the average person can chuck a guy - Little Guys like Bowser (of Koopa King fame) have 0 chuckability, because the average person is NOT Super Mario. The chuck needs to be a complete arc, landing on the ground some distance away - This is why flying/hovering guys do not get points in chuckability, much to the chagrin of all my ornithologist followers. There are some other obvious disqualifiers as well - the guy can't be too heavy or unwieldly like, oh I don't know, let's say a bottle nosed dolphin. The guy has to be tangible in order to even attempt the chuck, for instance, oh I don't know, just off the top of my dome, a purely digital avatar of a bottle nosed dolphin. Danger is factored in on a case-by-case basis. Sometimes a Little Guy who does not want to be chucked will try and fight back, sometimes they pose a danger passively that makes them impossible to pick up. It depends on the guy! Sometimes they have some other non-hazardous attribute that just makes them impossible to pick up. The final Chuckability score is an aggregate of how nice/easy a guy is to chuck, and distance chucked. A little guy who is a baseball is 3 star chuckability. A paper airplane might also get 3 chuckability, under the right conditions, but the delicate technique required to achieve distance on that bad boy is straying away from what is commonly understood to be a 'chuck', which is more of a rough throw than a delicate dart tossing. BUT I DIGRESS. We got ourselves a full grown fantasy Dwarf here, trained and ready for combat, so he weighs in at about 130kg. Factor in his plate armor at ~25kg, plus all his equipment, we'll put his total weight at ~185kg. So, if you are pretty strong, you could bear hug this guy and hoist him off the ground. But then you'd drop him! Even without his equipment, he is well outside the chucking range of professional athletes, even some of the strongest people in the world.

This is a good video, and I'm sure someone else has replied or reblogged with what I'm about to mention, so I apologize, but the "REAL PREYING [sic] MANTIS FACT" is only partially true. They do have an ear between their legs, but they don't have ears all over their body, in fact the ear they have between their legs is their only ear. As an added fact, the range of frequencies that a mantis hears is much higher than what humans can hear, likely an adaptation so they hear the noises bats make to echolocate, making it a bit easier to avoid getting eaten by bats.
