The Last Jedi - A Reylo Perspective

I absolutely adored The Last Jedi and am still buzzing from it. I need to let it sink in and can’t wait until I see it again on Thursday (once I see it again, I will actually be able to write a full review), but I wanted to run down some key things related to how the movie plays in relation to Reylo. I have seen lots of panic and misinformation going around, so wanted to cover some key things. 

There will be spoilers beneath the cut here. Please, please be respectful of others, and take appropriate caution when discussing this information. Most of this information is probably already out there in some way shape or form, but I’m not sure how much of this has been written up from a Reylo perspective.

I will not spoil the whole plot and will not respond to anyone asking me to do so (if you’re that desperate, there are plenty of leaks out there already - go and find them). I will, however, go into some key moments - I really think all of this is best experienced in a cinema rather than through my account, so bear that in mind before proceeding. I advise that you wait, but I know that some people are desperate for this and felt obliged to provide.

My little niece’s first crush

When me and my four year old niece were watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the interrogation scene where Kylo Ren removes his mask off showing his ‘good looking face’. My niece hides herself on my back from which I was amused at her shyness yet a bit confused to why is she hiding from the scene where Kylo Ren took off his mask so I asked her. (My niece’s name is Lara)

“Lara, why are you hiding? The guy right there, is not a scary man in the movie.”

My niece looks up to me and says.

“I am not scared, Tita.” (Tita means ‘Aunt’ in Filipino)

“Then why are you hiding yourself behind me?” I asked again curiously until she shyly answered.

“Because he looks like a prince, Tita.”

My eyes widen as I heard her say ‘A PRINCE!’ as I replied to her.

“Oh, so you like him, Lara.”

My niece nodded and then said.

“He is my first prince charming’ What she means is her first crush ;) and continues to say. ‘ And I want to marry him!’ 

I just giggled at her declaration of marrying Kylo Ren/Adam Driver. And finally where the battle of Kylo and Rey scene has ended. My niece cried that Kylo’s face was injury sliced up by Rey then in the end she said to me.

“Tita, do you think he will have a happily ever after with the girl he fight with?”

My eyes were widen like in a major surprise as I replied to her.

“We’ll just have to wait and see, Lara.”

So you see, even little girls like my 4 year old niece might have a crush on a hot guy like Adam Driver ;)

She was very shy, like literally shy. You know why?!

Because she has a crush on Kylo Ren when he unmasks himself in front of Rey! And she said that he looks like a prince!

And when I show her the TLJ trailer. she was so excited and was so happy to see Kylo Ren again, but she was more excited when she saw the scene of Kylo and Rey at the end of the trailer. She told me that he is going to be a good guy. Those are her words, not mine.
