In the original script, they explicitly state that it is not Hakweye he's waiting for but Ed, and Havoc muses that Roy supposes Ed disappeared because Roy didn't make it to him to help him. Aikawa notes that if it were a novelization, he'd keep it explicit, but as a movie, it was better not said so plainly.
