Happy belated birthday to Hwoarang YIPPEE I got no time to draw and just back from the break (cuz i was crashing out irl /jk /hmmmmm) I will join back on hwoarang week on twitter. A lil bit late, but I will make it up for him as penalty.

ANYWAY, Hwoarang also really interesting character and also one of well represented for korean fighters in fcg. I have enjoyed drawing him so much. Hopefully I could keep drawing him till his next birthday comes around. Wishing him a good bd and being good boy to his master and bf (?)

hmmm, Varka is an asshole AU, now that he is back he starts using Kaeya for his Khaenri'ahn heritage, putting him in severe danger, using him, blackmailing him, trying to get as much knowledge and use as he can out of Kaeya. When Diluc finds out oh boy is he pissed, infuriated that Varka has gone back on his word to keep Diluc's remaining family safe, Varka finding the hard way out what a truly mad, vengeful Diluc is like

Ok so by asshole you mean towards everyone? Or just Kaeya? Because I can totally see Diluc being the one line Varka would never cross with Kaeya, as in he won’t ever hurt Diluc to get to Kaeya. He can use his authority as Grandmaster to manipulate the knights into cutting Kaeya off or keeping him in the dark about their plans. But he can’t touch Diluc, both because he doesn’t have the power to and also because Crepus was his friend.

That would go a lot lot deeper though, since that would mean that Varka doesn’t see Kaeya as Crepus’s son the way Diluc is. Or that Kaeya being a supposed “threat” to Mondstadt is more important than him being family.

Diluc actually goes crazy. He could not give less of a damn what Varka’s motives are seeing that he would use Kaeya, who’s supposed to be his beloved captain, for any reason at all. It doesn’t matter how noble his cause is. And he’d spent the last years trying to slowly relearn how to trust the KoF again after they’d shattered him the last time. And Varka had seen firsthand the damage that incident had done to Diluc, if not before he left, then the way he acted after he returned.

The only difference this time is that he doesn’t need three years to search for the perpetrators.

Extra pain Kaeya didn’t tell Diluc any of this until he couldn’t hide it anymore/Varka gets caught in the act. He’s a master manipulator and he intentionally dodges Diluc’s suspicions because 1. He knows exactly how this is going to end when Diluc does end up finding out and 2. He’d spent his whole childhood believing he didn’t belong here, and his punishment had finally come for pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes for so long.

Diluc thinking that he is not deserving of Kaeya's forgiveness and that is why he is acting so gruff, convincing himself that if he keeps acting cold and distant, Kaeya will eventually stop, Kaeya's softness and attempts to reconcile hurting Diluc as he wallows in self-hate and self-harming himself, imagine if moonlight burned as much as the sunlight. Kaeya having to sit on Diluc and tell him that he still loves him as Diluc sobs from the anguish of it

This is pretty much canon Diluc in my head lol. It’s very clear that he cares a lot for Kaeya, but he keeps putting distance between them because he can’t accept Kaeya’s closeness. He knows how much Kaeya wants to reconcile too, but how can Kaeya forgive him for what he’s done if he can’t even forgive himself? How can Kaeya love someone who’s unlovable? (Because he’s Kaeya, he’s always been able to achieve the impossible)

#kaeya has enough of this and confronts Diluc #where everything blows up into a huge argument and he learns about Diluc’s self destructive thoughts #now Kaeya has to spray him with water and force him to get therapy #and also hold him in place and smother him with love until he gets the point #I feel like Diluc would withdraw more the more Kaeya tries to help him #since it’s not Kaeya’s responsibility to take care of his mental state #hence the spray bottle #kaeluckae #asks

Once when I was in undergrad, someone described something as “problematic” in class and our professor was like, “That’s cool, but ‘problematic’ doesn’t really mean anything. It means that the thing you’re describing has a problem, and in and of itself that’s not bad. Art, especially, should always have problems, or else it’s not interesting and not art, either. It sounds like you’re trying to say that this is bad, but you don’t want to say ‘bad.’ Is that right?”

So from then on whenever one of us called something problematic, he would make us talk it out until we could name the “bad” thing we were hinting at. In this particular class, 7/10 it was some type of oppression, and the remainder was like, “I’m uncomfortable because this is very new/confusing/pushing boundaries that made me feel safe.”

Once we stopped calling things “problematic” and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, “that’s racist” or “that’s misogynistic” or “ew capitalism gross” out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, “Uhhh... I’m not sure what’s so bad?” and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.

Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I can’t help but think of this professor being like, “Good starting point, now let’s get specific.” I think when we have to commit to saying “that’s ___” it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever we’re claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes it’s art, and it should be full of problems, because that’s what art is.
