ive always ALWAYS hated the fact that every time kaeluc gets mentioned especially on twitter, it’s always treated as taboo or gets a bad rep for having “those” kind of people (“yeah, no wonder why they’re ____, they’re a kaeluc shipper”), im not saying that all of us are pure saints but whenever somebody in the fandom gets outed as problematic, being a kaeluc shipper is the first thing people would bring up if they do happen to ship them.

it’s just bogging my mind that some would rather choose the censored (dogshit) version of diluc & kaeya’s relationship than looking beyond the mostly terrible translation and listen to chinese people, who are well aware of their own culture, and the context of the sworn brother trope (bc some selective mfs also would rather trust someone “chinese” who thinks calling someone gege = calling them an actual brother). and they have the audacity to shove an english screenshot of the game calling kaeluc “adoptive brothers” down at anybody’s throat who says otherwise, or insists that they’re “adoptive brothers” when it’s not. it’s fucking not. you would know this if you fucking read multiple posts of chinese people (some don’t even ship them at all nor played genshin ever) explaining sworn brothers.

for the love of god y’all this is a CHINESE game written by CHINESE people from a CHINESE company that markets genshin to CHINESE PEOPLE first before us. it doesn’t matter if mondstadt and its characters were based from germany or if kaeya and diluc aren’t chinese, it’s still a fucking chinese game, with chinese elements. like the ship is kicking and running in the chinese fandom for a reason.

PLEASE leave kaeluc and its shippers alone!!! (esp y’all in twitter and tiktok) bc instead of me seeing juicy kaeluc fanart, hcs, edits, or literally anyone gushing about them after my hiatus from the game/fandom, all i still see now are “arent they brothers” “incest” or something xenophobic (abt russians/chinese people) at any mention of the ship at all. i don’t want to generalize, but most of these are coming from That certain side of the fandom, it doesn’t help when they are still invading the ship tag when they could’ve just… leave it alone and move on. now the posts are getting scarcer. even i am afraid of posting kaeluc unless i only use a certain platonic pair name of the two (ironic isn’t it?)

thank god the discourse now wasn’t as rampant as before (racism remarks, death threats, and bullying left and right), but harassing kaeluc shippers still in the big 2025??? and then complain about how you’re always surrounded by kaeluc shippers????? fuck offfffffff literally fuck off.

liking kaeya & diluc in a familial/platonic matter doesn’t make you superior enough to bully those that do ship them, that’s puritan bullshit. and if u wont bother yourself to learn about the cultural context of sworn brothers yet insist that they’re “adopted” and/or calling the ship incest???? you’re a homophobe AND a sinophobe. (and you shouldn’t be even playing a chinese game if you’re not going to respect its culture anyways)
