This was not the first team Lance had been a part of - much less thrown into - a team of strangers. And certainly not to undergo some mission. Both the Galaxy Garrison back home and Team Voltron after that had put him in such situations. Well, at least not all of them were strangers. He easily lifted an eyebrow at Korra, clearly ready to impress the girl he had failed to impress months ago.
“You know something, Bolin, I should probably take that, I am pretty qualified after all.” It wasn’t Lance’s go to sniper rifle, but it was within his wheelhouse, and watching someone who had obviously never touched a firearm play around with it made him uneasy. “Right, Korra?”

With all of the commotion going on around the city, Urick didn’t think he would manage to find a partner for this beacon mess, let alone an entire team, yet here he was, three others beside him (four if you counted Bolin’s adorable rodent), with a brand new beacon kit at their disposal. All they had to do now was work together, and as Urick prepared to open his mouth, he prayed they could.
“Hold on, Lance, I think Bolin’s perfectly capable of carrying the blasting tool.” interjected Urick, walking up beside Bolin where he then gave them a friendly pat on the shoulder. Smiling beneath the mask he wore over his head (which was literally just a brown paper bag with eye holes), Urick continues, jovially, “He’s the one that brought us all together, and in a sense, he’s practically the spirit of our little group here. I say let him have it, he’ll be fine!” Lance was probably right in thinking they themselves were more fit to hold the blasting device, and in truth, Urick had his own worries in regards to leaving said device with Bolin, but Bolin seemed so excited by the notion of wielding it. Urick didn’t want to ruin the guy’s fun!
“But, and this is an important but,” looking away from Lance for the time being, Urick turns his paper covered visage toward Korra, “when it comes to where we go, and what we actually aim the tool at, I feel we should defer to you, Korra. You seem like the most leader-ish of us all.”

It was nice to be a team again. Even though she hadn’t been on the island very long, finding Bolin and Lance here was relieving. At least she didn’t have to go through this weird challenge alone... and this Urick guy seemed decent enough (even if he was wearing a paper bag... whatever).
“I trust you with it, Bolin.” She decided, siding with Urick on this one. If for whatever reason something did go wrong then she would designate the beacon-handling to someone else. “Just, you know... be careful, don’t blow anything up.” She didn’t know what it was capable of outside it’s specific uses... what if it did blow something up? She didn’t want to deal with the consequences of that.
Okay, now that she’d been appointed the leader, she found the first location and led the group to a tall derelict building. “Alright, you’re supposed to shoot that thing up there,” She pointed as she turned her attention to Bolin. “Ready?”
